People need employment, meaningful work, who will create the needed jobs and how?
People need jobs, where I live the unemployment rate is over 15% . You cannot have a strong economy if people are unemployed.
The best policy in life is to not rely on others. People need to create their own jobs. Find a niche that society needs filled.
The problem, at least here in New Mexico, is that no U.S. Citizen can hope to earn a livable wage without a college education or some serious clout. Illegal labor means that Unions here are all but worthless and you can't find a blue-collar job for any decent amount of money. The problem is that corporations have been allowed to outsource everything and pay no import taxes, which is cheaper than hiring local labor. Before long, their won't be enough jobs and the young generations will have to wait for the baby boomers to die for the jobs to open up.
People need to hire locally. There are jobs, but companies seems to hire out of town people ~ at least in New Orleans.
it is up to the people in the area to create jobs. there are hundreds of ways to do this, look at what your community has to offer and work with it.
