Certainly it is! There's no shortcut in this. No one will read junk since people are looking for useful info in the internet.
Well, many people will probably not like my answer ...but I must say no. No, you will get no traffic no matter how good is your content. You need to promote your website in order to get some visitors.
However, my answer does not mean you should not to create good content. In fact, the better content, the better will the website work for you. Great content will increase the conversion rate and will motivate the visitors to come back again if the were satisfied.
It’s a need to create quality content for reader would love to read. But I agree with moneytoplist, you won't gain traffic if you won't promote your website or your post/article. You also need to find a good keyword that has high monthly search and low competition. Make sure your content and the title has the keyword that you want the search engine to see.
