Have you ever considered direct sales?
Just curious. How many have considered direct sales? What items you would sell if you did?
No ma'am, never considered it. As much as I enjoy people, I am not a salesman at all. The main reason is that I strongly dislike not knowing exactly how much will be coming into the household on a monthly basis. It's difficult to plan around that. I personally just don't feel a sense of security with it.
I love your answer.. and it is the reason most people don't go into sales. It is scary from time to time.
This is a great answer! It does vary from month to month! Almost like a construction job, however, you do also have the ability to make it awesome every month! Thanks for answering!
I am in direct sales... if I understand what you mean by 'direct.' I own and operate an independent insurance agency and have for 14 years. I love it.. but the income fluctuates.
I was actually thinking more like selling products such as Avon or, like me, Vault Denim. You have a similar experience though, the variable income, sales, and commissions. I LOVE the ability to make my own contacts and hours! Thanks for responding!
I have been in direct sales as a Financial Advisor and Insurance Agent. I did enjoy the freedom it gives you in setting your own schedule. One down fall is a bad month of course where commissions are smaller. The first couple years starting out are the toughest as you build your client base, but once there it really is great. The only reason I am not in it now is that I decided to advance into management.
Direct sales is a challenging career choice for many people. However, for others like me it is a great way to share products I love with the people I meet throughout my day! There are slow seasons for any product, be that lends to creative planning and new sales techniques. I see it as a way to change things up and keep it fresh! I love direct sales and will always be involved in one way or another! I am currently an independent consultant for Vault Denim, Thirty-One Gifts, It Works! Global, Usborne Books & More, and Pink Zebra. Each product has a great place in my life and is together they have replaced my income from a job as a Preschool Director. I work from home and spend roughly 20 hours a week working. I love it and encourage others to give it a try!
