Didn't someone get shot doing any other action either?
I thought it was determined he committed suicide and tried to make it look otherwise for insurance.

Not to say a census job might not be dangerous. There are neighborhoods within a short bike ride from me I wouldn't want to be knocking on doors in.
It is good that you posted this. Ask lots of questions, though, if you go and take the test for census employment.
Last year, in their pamphlet, they advertised both full-time and part-time work. But this was not so. After scoring well on the test, I waited 2 months to hear from them. I had already made other plans by that time, and almost forgot about them.
They did offer me a job, but there was not one part-time job to be had. Only full-time, and only Monday - Friday. No flexibility to work on the weekend. I turned down the offer.
Some people are desperate and need the job, and I understand, but don't be surprised if it's not quite as promised.

I am sorry to hear that. But it is good that you also shared your experience.
Based on their information, they require applicants to be able to work during evenings and weekends. It also says that Census Takers will work within their own neighborhood or communities.
Perhaps, those who might be interested can call their hotline so that they can ask more detailed questions about the position.
Thanks for sharing too.

Yes indeed, they are in the second phase. This time they will be doing house-to-house interviews and this requires finding people at home during the evening. I imagine that they'll be targeting a sample of individuals with what is called the long form.
This is a very good temp job. They pay pretty well. And since they are no longer contracting with ACORN, there are more jobs to be had.
