What can I do about an employer who won't give me a good reference?
I quit my job due to a toxic office. My employer was mean & condesending. I have done the same job for 23 yrs(not with him) & I am good at my work.
Ask assistant managers or managers in other departments who had a good opinion of you for a reference instead.
They would never go against their boss. Those calls must be given to him. He's doing it to be spiteful.
Are there any "team leaders" in your work group or others that may help? Former employees who left the company would be an option.
