I'm hearing that there are more people interviewing but still not getting hired. While this is positive, it is not what we want to hear. I wondered if there is anyone who might share their stories about getting a new job, both positive and negative.
Cigna is actually actively hiring throughout the US for various health services jobs. They have positions available in various disciplines spanning finance, IT, general management, and healthcare related roles. It would be worth checking out.
there are companies that are hiring all of the time without advertising it. if you are interested in a company, typically you can bring their web page or site up and review what open positions they have on the site.

Best advice for anyone looking for a job...the medical field is always hiring. That is one field where there is major job security.
In my place(Toronto, Canada) nobody is hiring. I tried to find a weekend(second)job and found only domestic help and only because I worked for that company before. Very hard. And if somebody is indeed hiring - competition is staggering.
Yes. I've heard that's why many companies who do need help aren't even advertising it in the newspapers, etc., because they get deluged with applicants they have to sift through, and I'd imagine they also hire via their own personal connections if they can. No one wants to see their family members and friends out of work....
If you are ready to travel half way around the globe then India is hiring.

The nation’s employers added 114,000 jobs in September, a modest showing that was less than the previous month. But the unemployment rate dropped to 7.8 percent from 8.1 percent, the lowest since Obama took office in January 2009. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/06/busin … -8.html?hp
