I am looking for any insight on developing goals for personal and professional development.

It's easy to lose creativity and easy to get stuck in a rut and focus on failure. We believe failure is a dead end. It really isn't. I've written about how to fail and succeed. There are also many other terrific hubs that might be helpful to you. Just start searching hubs using key words.

Goals need to be precise. For example, a goal of having written 100+ hubs on December 31, 2011 is precise. You know what you're working towards and you also know when you've accomplished the goal: when the last day of this year comes, your hub count needs to be at least 100.

But a goal of 'I want to make more money online' is not precise. It's not a goal, it's just a vague wish.
