How did you get started on HubPages?

This is an excellent question Rosie2010!

It was a hot and muggy Summer. The hottest on record.

I have two blogspot blogs, that were started at the end of 2006 , and 2008 respectively. Sometime in 2010, I started getting pop-ups at the end of a Blogspot post saying, Write on HubPages. I ignored it the first time, because by golly, in 2,000,000,000 years, that $1.76 I had in AdSense earnings from my hot blogs, would possibly quadruple! Tongue-in-cheek, smiling laugh.

The next time I saw the HubPages ad, was in June 2010 , the message was from Google AdSense, it was more direct and recommend that this may be a site I where I would enjoy writing

At the beginning of my internet marketing spree (2006) , the first thing I did, after figuring out how to sign up for AdSense, was to read for the next two weeks, about 80 hours worth of Google/Google AdSense/Blog helps on Google.

I read everything I could find for my newbie mind to comprehend Blogspot and AdSense. At the end of each answer, it would say, Did this answer your Question?, I would respond yes or no. The yes gives one the option to comment or give feedback as to how it helped . The No response, would offer more opportunities to break it down the answers even further.

I guess learning about self-publishing and marketing on the interenet is similar to reading all of the directions from the IRS on how to do a tax return. I did not mind wending my way, having to take a messaged path to a certain and complete answer. I plodded my way through with the help of the Google Help Community.

I love them.

The other tech types within the Google Labs, and helps, love to show their stuff and help. Anyway, the topics of my blogs are not where people who are visiting are shopping for jewelry, shoes, educations, a car visit. This is one reason even though I was getting 2,000 hits per day, I was not generating AdSense earnings.

I learned this because of HubPages. I have learned invaluable lessons in HubPages and from the entire community, that will help me in all areas of internet publishing. HubPages provides all of the tools necessary for those real publishers, who have something to give.

as long as I believe in my dreams, that is all that matters

I started printing off my daily stats! I wanted to prove to the naysayers that I found my path, and what I was meant to do. Finally, I realized that even those who love you the most in some ways, can be the worst enemy of your dreams and goals. I stopped printing out in August, and was satisfied to observe the statistics, points, scores and ratings alone, and on-line. As long as I believe in my dreams, that is all that matters.

the more you give, the more you get, this is not measurable, or conscience

The more you give the more you get. It is not something that you can measure, it is just a law of attraction and success. So, in July 2010, I dove into HubPages, and the HubPages Community head first. It was desperate times, and I had not had work in a long time, so I started writing for my life.

10 days in, I challenged myself to a 30 in 30 challenge. I have not been good at making goals that I could meet. For some reason a big failing of mine, is that I cannot finish things. I did finish with flying colors, a day early, and picked up a friend along the way, who joined about the same time I did, and had challenged himself to a 30 in 30.

Recently, I started going back over the handwritten log I started keeping on Day 4 of my HubPages Career. I sure did not know very much! I can tell you that because of the 30 in 30 challenge, by my 30th Hub, I could no longer contain my stats in my handwritten log,

We really encouraged each other and still support each other in reading and responding and sometimes sharing on other networks. We did it. It was possible because of the philosophy of HubPages, that we are all a part of a Hub in a wheel in a giant publishing machine.

When I say publishing, it is not all about marketing, it is about Writing in the 2000's. This new economy and internet world, have different needs in media, entertainment and media. Hubbers are providing that.

This is a great community, and You Ms Rosie2010 are an excellent writer, and co-publisher. I am proud to write beside you. Good Question.
