Conversation with a Hub Member I Follow.

Updated on April 16, 2014

I thought it would be a great way for me personally to get to know a few of my favourite people I Follow on Hubpages. Also it gives my readers a chance to do so, at the same time.

This is the third I have posted so far the fist time was with CatherineR and the second time with.Luciendasky. This time it is with Lawyer and Mother anjalichugh

Question 1 You have been a member of Hubpages for a while now. What drew you to join and what do you think now, compared to when you started out ?

A: I joined Hub pages in Dec 2008 (last week) and since then I never stopped writing. It was an accidental discovery. I was surfing on the net for some blog site and landed on Hub pages, specifically, Prem Singh’s hub on ‘online money making’. I guess I had got into a spree of writing in that phase as I was working on my book (From the Desk of a Daughter) at the same time. Those were the days when I used to be awake until 4 a.m. sometimes, as with my job, I wasn’t able to find time for writing during the day. HP offered me a wonderful platform to write and sharpen my skills further. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration if I say that HP helped me to become a whole new person. I was able to radiate positivity more and more as I continued pulling out the hidden and long-since-buried thoughts from some dark corner of my mind and spilling them in the form of my hubs. Believe it or not, writing on HP has been almost like a levitating experience for me; I feel so light in my head whenever I publish an article. The thought of leaving HP hasn’t crossed my mind even for a single moment since the day I joined.

Q2 What sort of things are you writing about? What would you like to write about ?

A: As you would’ve known by now, I love writing about social issues, women, raising children, complexities of human mind and above all…spirituality & paranormal which happen to be my personal favorites. I would continue writing about human relationships and the importance of having the ability to give and receive ‘love’ in life.

Q3 What do you aspire to do in the future?

A:) I would love to be connected with children in some way or the other. I have a dream of running a ‘Home’ for the homeless and less fortunate kids. I want to spend the rest of my life raising such children with love and ensuring that they grow up, knowing a simple fact that it’s only ‘love’ which has the potential to change anything and anyone on this earth. My heart reaches out to those kids who have been ripped off every single chance to be happy in life.

Q4 What about your family and other pastimes?

A: I am an Indian (originally) living in New York. I live here with my son who is in High School and my husband keeps shuttling between Delhi and New York. I do my legal work during the day and enjoy writing (online & offline) post midnight. We (I & my son) share some good time with each other over the weekends and for rest of the week… we work almost 18 hrs a day; I’m happy that my son gets enough work from school to keep himself engrossed.

Q5 I see you’re involved in Meditation and Yoga which has changed, radically, your ability to deal with people, especially, when they come to you with all their problems ?

I feel it’s my profession, more than meditation, which has taught me to deal with people and problems. Considering the kind of work I’m involved in, I’ve been in ‘public dealing’ for almost two decades. My work offered me an excellent opportunity to interact with different types of people, coming from different cultures, races, financial and social backgrounds. I’m not trying to brag but at one point of time, my colleagues used to put me in the fore front for having the initial meeting with the client; they believed that I could read faces and find out truth in cases where clients where not comfortable divulging the truth. Speaking for ‘spirituality’, I have to admit that ‘meditation’ has given me lot of patience and resilience when it comes to handling difficult situations in life. It has given me the power of staying calm in the most grueling and nerve-raking situations.

Q6 I see you are a lawyer. I am currently studying law but worked in law enforcement in the 1970's. Would you please tell us a bit about your law career -the highs & lows ?

Although I’ve been in the legal profession for nearly eighteen years which includes fifteen years of active practice at Bar, I always felt that I wasn’t cut out for the kind of work I was doing. It, no doubt, gave me enough power, exuberance, extravagance and confidence to boast of, yet, it never gave me the kind of satisfaction and contentment which I was looking for. I realized long time ago that all it takes to win a case for a client is to be manipulative and that includes fabricating (facts & documents) and lying as well. If I had a choice, I would have made writing my profession, as writing is the only thing that gives me solace. That’s why I should be indebted to HP for creating an incredible platform to share views and a wonderful community to interact with. Thx.
