How To Reach 50000 Pageviews In 60 Days Chapter 3

sometimes taking part is as important as accomplishing the marathon

My Personal Write-a-thon

Dear Readers,

It’s been ten days since I wrote Chapter 2 of this series. This past week saw me toiling over preparation for three medical presentations I promised to do at the Medical and Hospital Fair and hence the little writing accomplished. Nonetheless, these are some of the new things that I tried:

From Zen To Confucius, Almost This was an article I did on the theme of people trying to achieve goals or life changes. The issue was addressed from the viewpoints of “Goal-setting” and Confucius’ ideas about “Stages of Life”.

Old Man And The Star This was an article on a Hong Kong philanthropist, an exercise on journalism.

Bruce Willis And The Plantar Warts This was another exercise to try to lighten up a medical article.

Go Now And Have A Good Life A short story on one of my favorite themes, secret of happiness of life.

Michael Scores Perfect A Sci-Fi short story about a boy who experiences a twist of fate and realizes that his is in fact an Avatar in a virtual world. He has to decide what he wants next.

Other than writing, I have experimented promoting my hubs at English Baby, an English learning social network where you can invite other users to be your friends and post blogs. The site is starting to be another traffic source. If you want to do the same, be warned about the spamming and phishing which are common place in these sites.

The following is how I have been doing:

Number of hubs: 59

Accumulated pageviews: 2315

Number of days since write-a-thon started: 13

Number of days left to go to reach a pageview of 50,000: 47

Progress has been slow yet steady. Whatever the outcome, the write-a-thon has definitely given me a more regular writing routine. If you ask me, I’d say it’s not looking hopeful, but has been most worthwhile and meaningful.

Happy writing,

Benson
