Hubbers Who Have Been My Support System: Installment 5

Updated on September 10, 2012
A very thankful writer!
A very thankful writer! | Source

I love this series of articles because it gives me a chance to take a break from the usual writing and give heartfelt thanks to those who continue to support me. I have been on HubPages now for a little over two months although it truthfully seems much longer. I currently have 418 followers and that number is daunting because it is literally impossible to highlight each and every one of them. Inevitably I will forget someone who has been faithful and loyal and then I fear hurt feelings. In the list today is one man and one woman who should have been on earlier lists but because of an oversight I simply left them off. I have corrected that today and I hope they realize there was nothing intentional in the oversight.

Followers mean a great deal to me because I write for them. My messages of changing our lives and making a difference would just be so many words drifting around the internet if it were not for those who take the time to read my words and comment in return. I know that takes time and effort because I try to do the same for them and others. When you start to accumulate a following it becomes fairly difficult to find the time to faithfully follow each and every one in return and yet difficulty is no excuse. I owe it to my followers to follow them and I try hard to accomplish that task with love and appreciation.

This, then, is my next attempt to say thank you to those special people who continually give me encouragement and support.

WISDOM AND HUMOR FROM ENGLAND

Let’s start out with someone I somehow managed to forget about when doing the first four installments of this series even though he was one of the first to comment on my earlier articles. A teacher, a humorist and a man of refined tastes and wisdom, Molometer is a man I would love to sit down with some day and share a cup of tea.

If you would like a sample of his sense of humor try out http://molometer.hubpages.com/hub/The-British-Weather-Is-So-Changeable-It-Has-Become-A-National-Obsession and I think you will agree with me that this kind gentleman is well-worth reading and following. I am grateful for his following and offer up a thank you for his support.

TALENT AND GRACE ALL IN ONE PLACE

Audra is the next follower who deserves an apology. Somehow she slipped through the cracks of my mind and considering how faithful she has been to me that is slightly unreal. I will claim old age as my only excuse and move on.

She writes poetry, she writes prose and she does both with talent. Read her tribute to her boyfriend at and see for yourself how much talent this lady brings to the table each and every day. If you are new to HubPages you might want to tag along with Audra and pick up some tips on how to do it right on this site. Our friendship grows daily and I am the lucky one because of it.

PEACE, LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING

If there is a more spiritual person on HubPages than this next gentleman I would like to know about them immediately. I gravitate towards people who speak from the heart with compassion and empathy for others and that perfectly describes Spirit Whisperer. Xavier is his name and he hails from the Isle of Man. All Xavier does is help others through his business, his writing and his daily activities. This work, http://spiritwhisperer.hubpages.com/hub/Life-is-a-Message-Kelly-Thomas, is a perfect example of his message, that only through love will this world be a better place.

I am proud to call this man of peace a friend. You would be well-advised to follow him now and into the future.

ALWAYS EXPLORING

I simply love this lady’s screen name and it beautifully captures her spirit. She is fascinated by life and is constantly looking for new adventures and challenges. This is a person of depth and compassion and that, my friends, is a legacy one can be proud of.

Her friends know her as Ruby and she is a poet of considerable stature. Take a look around her site and read http://alwaysexploring.hubpages.com/hub/My-heart-is-racing-my-palms-are-sweating-i-m-on-a-bridge if you are in need of some beauty on this particular day. Her talent with the written word is only exceeded by her kindness as a human being.

LOOK TO THE SKY FOR THE ANSWERS

A man of God, a man of peace, a man who has found the Light and spends his time now sharing his truth with others. If you have read any of my works you will know that I am all about truth and changing for the better. I read one poem by this man and decided he was someone I needed to know better and over the past few weeks we have become brothers with a single purpose.

Visit his site and read http://sky9106.hubpages.com/hub/BetterThinkAgain for a glimpse into the soul of a man who is on the right path. You won’t be disappointed!

AN EDUCATOR WITH A MESSAGE

Raciniwa is her name and she comes to us from Cebu. Her refreshing outlook on life and her depth as a person make her a must on your to do list. I am blown away by her insights and the gentleness of her spirit. If you would like to be blown away then by all means read http://raciniwa.hubpages.com/hub/Parenting-Our-Inner-Child and get in touch with your inner child.

I don’t know what it is about some people but there are those rare few who manage to grab hold of your heart through their words and Raciniwa is such a person. Please give her your support the next time you are looking for an uplifting message.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE BRITISH?

I readily admit to having a fondness for the British. I love their dry humor and their practical outlook on life. Nell Rose has it all and she was actually the seventh person to follow me when I first started. As I look at her profile I see she has over 1,900 followers and that, folks, ain’t bad.

Her articles are enlightening and useful and filled with practical knowledge but besides all that she is an excellent writer. Try http://nell-rose.hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Turn-Your-Balcony-Into-A-Beautiful-Garden on for size and see if you don’t agree with me that wonderful things come from Britain.

THE TIME HAS COME

That’s all for today folks but next week we will take a look at some more of my faithful followers. I know a wickedly funny woman from the Midwest who you will meet and a lovely young woman named Angela who is a must read. The rest will have to remain a mystery until next time.

Seriously for a moment: taking the time to follow one is an awesome thing. I check my site throughout the day to see the comments left and I always take the time to respond. Always! If I were to extend a suggestion to those just starting out it would be this: if someone has taken the time to read your hub the least you can do is take the time to respond. I feel very strongly on this. I am not talking about a response like, “thanks for reading” or “Nice of you to drop by.” Those are hollow in my humble opinion. If you want someone to follow you faithfully then act like it. Otherwise may the Hub gods have mercy on you!

Thanks to all of you. I fully realize that my hubs are not what one would call hot ticket items. I do not write to dazzle the masses with my knowledge of the best places to shop or how to find the best day care centers. I simply write from the heart and try to convey a message of love, compassion and empathy in my work. I may not ever have a thousand followers or a thousand reads per day but I do feel fulfilled by what I write and when I receive a heartfelt message from someone telling me that my article has touched their heart then that means the world to me.

I will leave the instructional articles to someone else who most likely will do a better job at them than I ever would. I have my little niche in the literary world and it fits me quite nicely. Peace and love to all of you out there!

Bill. Another great hub. And you are right, this little niche of the writing world that you have settled into suits you perfectly. And I think it suits all of us followers as well. I would much rather read your honest and heartfelt stories than what you think about the latest shooping deals (no offense, but I could write you under the table on that one!). Because not only are you hubs great reading, but they put me in touch with the deeper, honest parts of myself. And that is better than anything. Yours is the little voice in my head reminding me to read hubs and check out new hubbers and respond to comments and to write from the heart. I am still working on finding time for it all, and I will. You have taught me the importance of support and community. And as I still struggle to find my own little niche, you have been a big part of my support system. Thank You!

Made, that was a very kind thing to write. Thank you! It is interesting to me how we "get to know" each other only through our writings, but so many times our impressions of a person we have never met are right on! Thank you sincerely billy . I am so glad that your sincere truth and tireless ability to share , have already done more than enough and the great thing is I said so . I told you that you were special and meant it because, we have traveled that very same road and live to have a great truth and we love to share.

I remember my father saying : Son Honor and shame from no condition rise; Act well your part, there all the honor lies.

I just came from the Hospital overnight. I for one feel it's a shame to be fearful of death , that was a long time ago ,even before my dad died and I said to my self that death was disrespectful, and I will always try to never let it toy with me.

For moths now I was fighting something that seems to have my number . I had made up my mind that this is the year I stepped up . So My sister threatened to tell my mother and that started the down slide . I a m simply weak tyo any suggestions from my mother. Told her about how I felf but never the dept of the feeling.

Then my friend's wife spoke to me through e/mail , like she have never done before. I cried while answering her on the computer and told here exactly what how I was feeling. All this came about because she told me that she was not feeling too well that same day . I gave her my blessings and told her how I felt and immediately she went in overdrive letting me know hers in nothing compared to what I just said. Off to the ER I WENT.

She works around doctors for years, at Kaiser.

Came out last night , My thyroids went wacko!

I lost unimaginable amount of weight quite quickly from 260 I went to 213, and that's like me .

My heart was on it's own mission fueled by the thyroid . I wanted only to publish one book before I left this plain, and I started working ion the copy I love the best. It's being edited.

I have 5 more God bless, and I won't stop this pace and I won't take anything for granted.

Give God the praise , I am quite happy that God has bought us together in this manner . I have a story like yours on here , of course not written as exquisite as yours , but ewe got here.Again I remember my mother saying that donkey always reaches where horse went.

I really appreciate being in such a olace and group with you , for I know you are one going places , because of you truthful life experiences , that's what you are here for.

Blessings from the Most High God to you and yours always billy!

You give a gift because you have a gift. Some of us (ME) stumble on what to write and how to write it and have so little time in which to write it. No matter how much effort we put into our hubs, they don't get read, but that's never the case for you. You, my Hubfriend, seem to lay your fingers on the keyboard and out come the words no matter the subject. I find it amazing, which is why I follow you.

Baking, that was as kind a thing as I have heard in quite some time. I am going through serious self-doubts right now because....are you ready...my visits are dropping rapidly. Am I doing something wrong? Do people no longer like my writings? All of that self-doubt crud that creeps into our minds and makes us question what we are doing. I so appreciate your words and I encourage you never to give up. If you write because of your passion for writing then keep going.

Beckie, I don't know if Sky is even writing any longer. He sort of disappeared and I think it's health-related. Thank you dear; sending love.

Oh - now I really feel bad. I do hope it isn't serious. Not trying to pry. There are just so many hubbers its sometimes hard to realize when one hasn't been heard from.

I don't know, Beckie; I know he had to go to the hospital and then he never wrote again. Your guess is as good as mine.
