Hubbers Who Have Been My Support System: Installment 5

I love this series of articles because it gives me a chance to take a break from the usual writing and give heartfelt thanks to those who continue to support me. I have been on HubPages now for a little over two months although it truthfully seems much longer. I currently have 418 followers and that number is daunting because it is literally impossible to highlight each and every one of them. Inevitably I will forget someone who has been faithful and loyal and then I fear hurt feelings. In the list today is one man and one woman who should have been on earlier lists but because of an oversight I simply left them off. I have corrected that today and I hope they realize there was nothing intentional in the oversight.

Followers mean a great deal to me because I write for them. My messages of changing our lives and making a difference would just be so many words drifting around the internet if it were not for those who take the time to read my words and comment in return. I know that takes time and effort because I try to do the same for them and others. When you start to accumulate a following it becomes fairly difficult to find the time to faithfully follow each and every one in return and yet difficulty is no excuse. I owe it to my followers to follow them and I try hard to accomplish that task with love and appreciation.

This, then, is my next attempt to say thank you to those special people who continually give me encouragement and support.

WISDOM AND HUMOR FROM ENGLAND

Let’s start out with someone I somehow managed to forget about when doing the first four installments of this series even though he was one of the first to comment on my earlier articles. A teacher, a humorist and a man of refined tastes and wisdom, Molometer is a man I would love to sit down with some day and share a cup of tea.

Audra is the next follower who deserves an apology. Somehow she slipped through the cracks of my mind and considering how faithful she has been to me that is slightly unreal. I will claim old age as my only excuse and move on.

I simply love this lady’s screen name and it beautifully captures her spirit. She is fascinated by life and is constantly looking for new adventures and challenges. This is a person of depth and compassion and that, my friends, is a legacy one can be proud of.

A man of God, a man of peace, a man who has found the Light and spends his time now sharing his truth with others. I readily admit to having a fondness for the British. I love their dry humor and their practical outlook on life. Nell Rose has it all and she was actually the seventh person to follow me when I first started. As I look at her profile I see she has over 1,900 followers and that, folks, ain’t bad.

Seriously for a moment: taking the time to follow one is an awesome thing. I check my site throughout the day to see the comments left and I always take the time to respond. Always! If I were to extend a suggestion to those just starting out it would be this: if someone has taken the time to read your hub the least you can do is take the time to respond. I feel very strongly on this. I am not talking about a response like, “thanks for reading” or “Nice of you to drop by.” Those are hollow in my humble opinion. If you want someone to follow you faithfully then act like it. Otherwise may the Hub gods have mercy on you!

Thanks to all of you. I fully realize that my hubs are not what one would call hot ticket items. I do not write to dazzle the masses with my knowledge of the best places to shop or how to find the best day care centers. I simply write from the heart and try to convey a message of love, compassion and empathy in my work. I may not ever have a thousand followers or a thousand reads per day but I do feel fulfilled by what I write and when I receive a heartfelt message from someone telling me that my article has touched their heart then that means the world to me.

I will leave the instructional articles to someone else who most likely will do a better job at them than I ever would. I have my little niche in the literary world and it fits me quite nicely. Peace and love to all of you out there!
