Hubbers Who Have Been My Support System: Installment 4
It is indeed time to warm the cockles of your collective heart by telling you about some of the special people in my life. For those of you who are new there are three other installments to this series. It certainly isn’t necessary for you to read the other three although I would suggest it if you want to hear about some very special writers who are also very supportive to newcomers. It is just a suggestion but if I were new to HubPagesI would grab some of the names I have mentioned, send them some fan mail and then learn from them because they are that good! You just might learn to be good writers by osmosis!
Since I am closing in on 400 followers it is practically impossible to list everyone who follows me; rather, this series was and still is meant to highlight those out there who faithfully follow me and comment on practically every one of my hubs. That kind of dedication deserves mentioning and a special thanks and this series is my way of saying I am very grateful.
There are some very supportive people on HubPages. Early on during my stay here there were a couple people who took me under their wing so to speak; they encouraged me and wrote glowing comments and really were the main reason why I stuck with it. That kind of encouragement is priceless in my opinion and I would suggest to all of you to spend five minutes of your day giving special attention to a newcomer so they can feel the same warmth and welcoming that I did when I started.
So, having babbled on about all that, let’s get down to this week’s list of my special people.
BEAUTY, BRAINS AND COMPASSION
Ruchira combines all three of the qualities listed above and does it with style and class. Drop by her site and read http://ruchira.hubpages.com/hub/What-connects-people-in-the-world or any of the other excellent hubs she has written. You won’t be disappointed.
I counted this week how many times she was one of the first five to comment on my hubs. Can you say five out of eight? That kind of support is so valuable, especially to a struggling writer who is just starting out on a forum like this one. Stop by and say hello to her and find out for yourself how truly supportive Hubbers can be.
THE NUMBERS CAN’T BE RIGHT!
How could this Hubber only have 26 followers? That is the question I ask every time I read one of the hubs written by Sonya L Morley. I challenge you to read http://sonyalmorley.hubpages.com/hub/When-I-Became-a-Mother-Life-on-a-Small-Island and then tell me she is just an average writer. My God, folks, get with the program and sign on with this lady from Edinburgh!
Yes, I like her and yes, I think she is one hell of a writer. Going just a little further, however, I will tell you that as time has progressed and I have read her comments to me I have decided that she is a quality human being and Sonya, that is the highest compliment that I pay to people. Thank you my dear!
TEACHERS ARE PEOPLE TOO
If you have read any of my hubs you will know that I am all about passion and truth and that brings us to this next lady who is as passionate about teaching and helping children as you could ever hope to find. All she has done is dedicate her life to helping kids; if there is a nobler calling I’d like to hear about it.
Check out this hub http://teaches12345.hubpages.com/hub/The-Gift-of-a-Childs-Drawing-analysis-meaning-stages and you will see just how strongly she feels about her students. I am proud to call her a friend.
A WICKED SENSE OF HUMOR
I love to laugh. Ardie Paul loves to laugh. It is a match made in heaven as far as I’m concerned. Oh, wait, she’s taken! Oh, wait, I’m taken! Oh well, I can still enjoy her sense of humor through her hubs.
The other thing about Ardie worth mentioning is that once she is your friend she is as loyal as they come. You might want to follow her and send her some fan mail. There is a reason why she is considered a HubPages Elite. Check it out for yourself and you will know why.
LOVELY AND SMART
When you get a chance go see Natasha and look at that smile. I will eat my hat if you don’t become enthralled with that smile of hers. Now toss in the fact that she is a lover of history and an excellent writer and you have a darn good reason to follow her.
If you are in the mood to do some gardening check out http://natashalh.hubpages.com/hub/Urban-gardening-how-not-to-let-a-nonexistent-yard-slumlord-or-lack-of-budget-hold-you-back and she will tell you how to do wonders with a small budget. Thank you, Natasha, for brightening every one of my Hub days.
TALENT, TALENT AND MORE TALENT
Those three words, or one if you are being picky, beautifully describe my next guest, none other than Katrine. Not only is she an excellent writer but she produces music as well, telling me that her talent has no limitations.
If you are in the mood for a powerful message of love then I suggest you seek her and find her or just browse her site until you find something that resonates in you. It won’t take long to discover that I am oh so right about this young lady.
OUT OF TIME
I already have my next batch of followers picked so never fear, if you have been along on my journey your fifteen minutes of fame is coming soon.
Seriously, let me say this: I would have quit HubPages the first week if some very kind people hadn’t reached out and given me encouragement. They had no reason to do so other than the fact that they are caring human beings who want to help others. Come to think of it, those are the only kind I hang with.
I love HubPages and I love being a part of such a talented and giving community of writers. If you are just starting out I suggest that you reach out and start following some hubbers. You just might be rewarded, as I was, with some friends for a lifetime.
My best to all of you and to all of you who have followed me, I humbly thank you!
