My hub on Jaaxy is on the first page of Google for the keyword "Jaaxy"!

Updated on June 19, 2012

Increase in traffic to my Jaaxy hub

I first wrote my hub on Jaaxy, the best keyword research tool today, in late March. It gets quite a few page views everyday but it was not until this week that I noticed the spike in traffic for this particular hub:

The Best Keyword Tool – Jaaxy versus Google’s Keyword Tool

As I wrote this hub a few weeks ago I was curious to know why as I have not made any effort in promoting it apart from submitting it to Stumbleupon last week.

Checking on Google to confirm my hub rank

I went to google.com and typed in "Jaaxy" on the search field. To my surprise, I saw my hub on the 8th position on the first page of Google!

My hub is on the 8th spot on Google search!
My hub is on the 8th spot on Google search!

So, how do people find my Jaaxy hub?

I clicked on the title of my hub (yes, it's clickable as can be seen in the image above) and was directed to my hub. At the top of the hub there are 4 options:

Edit / Stats / Delete / Suggest Links

I clicked on Stats and clicked on the Total tab to see where my traffic is coming from. My most notable traffic sources are from:

  1. Hubpages.com
  2. angied83.hubpages.com
  3. google.com
  4. google.co.uk
  5. google.com.my
  6. google.com.ng
  7. stumbleupon.com
  8. toolbars.alexa.com
  9. search.aol.com

Clicking on the Keywords tab shows the keyword terms that people have used to find my hub. According to hubpages help, these are the words that appear in the searches but not in my title:

  1. jaaxy "seo power"
  2. find the best weight loss key words available
  3. jaaxy
  4. jaaxy monthly
  5. jaaxy vs google
  6. jaaxy different than google

Now, I am left to decide if I should update my hub title to reflect the new keyword terms but I decided to go against it. Why?

Because if people are finding me on google because of my original hub title then it would be best to leave it at that.

So, what should I do with these suggested keywords?

I thought it over and I decided I have two options:

1. Add these keywords to the tags for this hub.

AND

2. Create hubs for each of these keywords.

Doing number 1 is a whole lot easier than option 2 so I went to Edit my hub and then updated the tags.

My tags for my Jaaxy hub now reflects the suggested keywords from Google.

The importance of keyword research

I encourage new and not-so-new hubbers alike to carry out proper keyword research before writing any content online. It's not easy writing at least 500 words for a good quality article therefore it is important that you do this task amongst other things.

This hub is a good example of what happens when good keyword research is implemented. The best keyword tool, in my opinion, that you can use for your daily keyword research tasks is Jaaxy. Here are my ten reasons why I simply love Jaaxy!

What do you think? Should I have chosen option 2 instead of option 1? Please do let me know your thoughts on the comment box below.
