Out here ... in Pakistan ... its considered very bad manners, to point the sole of ones foot, at the company.

I can't see anything wrong with it with my Texas eyes.

I'm from California, currently living in Kansas, and neither state seems to find it terribly offensive.

Hmmm. Now the bottom of feet are offensive?
re: comment about Pakistan: Michael isn't from Pakistan. In some countries it is not appropriate for woman to go around with her head uncovered. Does that make all of us with our heads uncovered  offensive?

Thanks a lot for putting this question about my photograph out there for anybody to answer and not asking me anything about it first!! Much appreciated!!
As others have said it is not considered unacceptable in many parts of the world, and certainly not where i come from. If you don't like it you don't need to look at it or read any of my hubs. That's freedom for you! I might not like a lot of people's avatar picture's but i respect their right to choose what they want and i have the right to ignore them and not bother to read their hubs. If everybody was as small minded as the person who posted this question there would be an awful lot of questions and complaints going in!

    Wesman Todd Shaw./ JEDIJESSICUH
    Thank you for the answer.
I think you answered perfectly, hit the point without any need to argue.
I can know know that in some culture it is acceptable, and that what I was asking about.

    Mr. Michael
I think no need to fight if you are satisfied about what you are doing.
I think I have the right to ask, & to give my opinion.

    FloraBreenRobison
I think it is not related to religious issue to give this example.
    Thanks anyway.

    Shahid Bukhari
Thank you to let us know how it is considered in Pakistan.

I am grateful that you at least washed your foot before taking a picture of it that is displayed all over the world.  In some countries though it could be considered an insult.

It's about as offensive as say...flowers as an avatar.

I'm surprised HubPages did not remove ithis question. Save you complaints for truly offensive pictures.
