What was the length of the last Hub you read? Short, medium, or long?

With shorter being 500 or fewer words; medium, 500-plus, and long, 1,000-plus words. It is always interesting and useful to find out more about fellow Hubbers' reading habits.

It is not the actual length of Hubs that one should concentrate on, but rather the "attentive effect" that is has.  For example, a boring, dull Hub with only 500 words could seem way longer to a reader as opposed to an interesting Hub with 1200 words or more, if that makes any sense...

Mrs. Butterfly Brain here, I do tend towards mid length hubs. Short ones leave me a bit frustrated if they are interesting. Long ones can get a bit hefty. Now I sound a bit like Goldilocks..... medium length hubs suit me best. It's a personal thing, but that seems to be what your questioning.

I'm sorry, but I must ask:  How can something long and interesting, be a bit hefty, as you say?  We are talking about Hubs, right?

i always read hubs that are around approximately 400 words hubs. Too lengthy hubs take up too much time to read as I need to read 10-15 hubs per day with only 30min to spend on my notebook. Don't have much time to spare since I had to take care of my kids at home.

Short hub is good, because it people are in hurry they have no time so short hub is enough.

My gawd!  If I don't have time, I wouldn't be reading anything, much less skimming around for short Hubs to peruse in a hasty fashion; ha!  I'm sorry, but I just happened to find your answer funny...  big_smile

I tend towards medium-length hubs.  But it isn't the word count of the hub that is most important to me, but the content and if it is information I actually need or find interesting.  Also, the opening couple of paragraphs will lock it in for me...or not.  I also like relevant photos.  Videos take up too much time and I rarely watch them.

Thanks for the questions.  Aloha, Stephanie
