Have any of my Hub friends been to Paris?

How cautious do you have to be to avoid being a victim of theft (pickpocketing)?

I was in Paris many years ago. I was reasonably cautious. It's so much more of a hassle to lose a wallet (or passport) in a foreign country. Even though I'm a guy, I wore a small across-the-shoulder pouch. And I kept my passport (and sometimes my wallet, when in crowds or on the metro) in an inside pocket. I would say if you're attentive and not distractible, you'll probably be fine. But two notes: Anyone with a newer view might be more helpful. And be more careful in tourist areas, in crowds, or on the metro. And watch out for children: This may be rumor, but I've heard of children pickpockets in Paris.

SidKemp: thank you so much for your feedback!  Yes, I did research, and young children are pickpockets, especially on the metro.  It is not a rumor.
I so much appreciate hearing from you.  Blessings, Sparklea smile

Do be careful, and arrange things so that, even if your pocket is picked, it's easy to take care of the problem. More importantly, have a fun trip!

Yes, on my honeymoon, how little original, hey? But it was beautiful, romantic and everything you can expect from Paris, have sent my children there as well, once they reached adulthood to experience Paris,it is unforgettable:)
None of us have been robbed in Paris, but we all have been robbed in our home city of Prague, so there you go, it is everywhere:)

Hi Beata:  THANK YOU! My sis's home was robbed last year...so I guess it does not matter where you live or go.  So sorry you were robbed.  Awful experience.  I so appreciate your valuable information about Paris, and thank you for sharing.  Sparklea
