   I use social media to promote my hubs. I join groups that are similar to the topics I write about and then I post my hubs within those groups. There are a number of things that I do. I am a blogger so I sometimes write blogs similar to my hub articles and include a link within my blog. Also I email family and friends articles and simply ask them if they would read an article that I wrote. There are many things that I do so be creative, use online resources that are available to you and try to answer people's questions with your hubs. For example if you happen to hear someone mention that they would like to do some gardening and you have a hub on gardening, tell them that you have information that may be helpful to them, ask them for their email address and send them a link to your hub. Link sharing is really helpful in this area. If you dedicate not even an hour a day into thinking of ways to share your hub links, you will notice a change in the  amount of traffic you are getting. Remember to think about people that can use the information within your hub. Your biggest asset is the online community. Compile an email list.

      Thank you for sharing your answer.  I use a little social media like facebook.  I haven't joined a group though, could be a good idea It's just my friends as of now.

   You might like to post a link on all major Social networking sites , FB,G+,Twitter, Pinterest(if you have pics in your hub),
   But if I were to do this kind of  promotion I would do it to get some traffic and not to get the link juice .

   Besides the usual social media suspects, FB, G+, Twitter, Pinterest, I also use Reddit (though sparingly), and sometimes StumbleUpon. I ping too, but I haven't seen any evidence that it actually helps much.
   
   If your hubs center around a certain topic area, become a member of various forums in that area, build a bit of a rep by answering/asking questions. Put your HP domain in your profile if you can. Occasionally, post a link to a relevant hub, but don't spam. This has been very successful for me as it brings in hits over a longer period of time compared to the mainstream social media.
   
   Also, cultivate some connections on Twitter. A retweet of your hub URL, especially by a tweep with lots of followers, can be gold.

      Thanks for answering Casimiro.  I also use reddit sparingly (submitting to an appropriate subreddit) which actually returns a good chunk of my traffic.  But I'm worried my account will get blocked.  Good Idea putting your website into forum profiles.

   If you register with forums relevant to the content of your articles, you may be able to include a signature link which is auto attached to every post you make to a thread. This could be a link back to a HubPages article or profile. An interested viewer might be more likely to click on this rather than going to the trouble of viewing your profile on the forum.
   If you are knowledgeable about a topic, you can answer questions on sites such as  Answerbag and Yahoo Answers. They allow you to post links in your answers which are not "no-follow".
