That's a really good question and I have struggled with it as well. It seems Hubpages likes lengthy Hubs. As a career journalist (print and electronic) I know for a fact longer is not always better. A person's attention span gets very short when they see continual ongoing text, even if it is in bullet points and paragraphs. I have found myself adding unnecessary fluff just to reach Hubpages qualifications. Hopefully the decision makers will be more accepting of good content in a short form.
