What has helped you to gain more followers of your Hubs?

I think there's value in having followers to your hubs not only in increased views but getting feedback as well. I was curious what has helped you to gain more followers? I want ones to follow me because they truly enjoy reading them, so this isn't a "scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" situation.

I think that well-written, useful content is fundamental to getting followers.  You are the only one who can ensure that people enjoy what you read.  Write something enjoyable!

That said, I can guess what makes people follow me, by examining what makes me follow people.

I like feedback and support.  I give that and I receive that. In the process I form relationships. Relationships help everything. My followship thrives on connectedness.

Excellent ideas and tips. I know with time ones may follow and comment on hubs I post as long as I try to write the best I can. Appreciate the feedback!

Write stuff you are interested in and have a passion in and chances are others will have some of the same passions.

I agree it's important to not just write about things you're not interested in. In time I'm sure there will be ones that have an interest in the hubs I write. Thanks for the tip!

Followers get you a spurt of views when you first publish and a handful of comments.

Good SEO, made for pinterest images and unique well written content brings you ongoing traffic and money for the life of the hub.

Good points to remember, thanks. I think both are important in different ways. Id like to continue to improve overall and these suggestions are great!

You can also gain more followers by following others and commenting on their hubs. Those you follow and comment on their hubs will also aspire to do so on you.

Time and patience is key, but so is actively participating in the forums/questions and having good hubs with interesting content that hooks readers. I did not really start to get followers until between the 1-2 year mark and now I get new followers weekly.

The big thing for me to follow someone is to be engaging, thoughtful, and helpful. Don't be a forum troll.

Good observation, I can notice when ones are really commenting and then other times just commenting to build up their status. Thanks for the feedback!

I completely agree, it has helped in feedback for me personally. I haven't got a lot of followers yet, but one way has been to be a part of the hubpages community. I've gotten good feedback and follow users who I enjoy reading their hubs as well.
