Am a newbie here although an experienced writer. I'm just wondering on which website I can get a wide range of photos or videos that I can use for my hubs. Spent hours looking online for one to no avail. creativecommons.org had no photos I could use. My hub is about divorce and legal separation. Please help!

You can use videos from YouTube with no problems. As for photos, there are quite a few sites out there. You would have to examine the licensing to see with photos you could use under the Creative Commons licensing.

      Wikimedia
      Flickr
      Pixabay

Those are three that I use from time to time.

I like morguefile dot com.  A lot of the shots are slightly amature but they are searchable and indexed nicely and there's a crop feature before you import the url... which means I don't have to download fix then re-upload into HP.

I had not heard of morguefile. Thanks for that. Always looking to bookmark such sources. smile

Stock xchng and wikimedia commons are my two favorite sources.

Flickr works, but you have to click Advanced Search and limit it to "Commercial Use Allowed."

Also do a search on this site, there are several hubs and forum discussions on where to find copyright free images.

Looks like all the pics on morguefile are watermarked. Watermarks perturb HP greatly. Be sure to crop those out if allowed.

I just downloaded a photo from morguefile and it wasn't watermarked.

Hmmm. I wonder if I was the victim of a statistical anomaly...?

I went and looked again. Everyone one of them says dreamstime.com in light, translucent white at bottom, right. An overlay that goes away when doing actual download? Or when registered and signed in?

Whatever was going on has stopped. I'm now seeing what everyone else is seeing, no watermarks. Most odd. Oh, well.

I just noticed a dreamstime tab on the morguefile site.

Darned weird. Now they're gone. I then had the insight to check out what the heck was dreamstime.com. It's another photo site. I wonder if owned by same entity and there was some weird, temporary crossover. Whatever, I'm not sufficiently interested to follow it up further. I'm sticking with the statistical anomaly theory.

http://morguefile.com/ is one I use when http://search.creativecommons.org/ does not give me what I need (which is very rare).

I mainly use the http://search.creativecommons.org/ because it allows you to choose various sites to search, including flickr.com, google images, Wikimedia Commons and You Tube (amongst others). All you have to do is enter your search term in the main box, then click the 'box' of the site you want to search. If you did this I am really surprised you couldn't find anything based on the subject matter you described. If you use my link this is what you see on the page (apologies for small image, but it gives you the general idea):
