In my attempts to start interesting forum threads, I thought I'd go for a 2 for 1. I would like to compile 100 original Hubber quotes to use in a project.
I am looking for whatever anyone wishes to say that is in line with this forum title. They can be metaphysical, philosophical, humorous, etc. The purpose of the quote should be to make the reader think.
To get things started, I submit the following...
Accepting the fact that one cannot know everything is the symptom of a wise mind.
It's OK to make mistakes. It's the nature of our species.
When something good happens to you, it does not mean you are special. When something bad happens to you, it does not mean you are special.
Well, I see that I have created yet another hit.
This one, I will plow along with.
I'll help out with one. I have a hub full of these kind of quotes.
We must stretch our minds to discover, explore, listen to our world, both within and around us.
I get annoyed with racism, discrimination or prejudice from others here's a quote I like
'Abortion and racism are both symptoms of a fundamental human error. The error is thinking that when someone stands in the way of our wants, we can justify getting that person out of our lives. Abortion and racism stem from the same poisonous root, Selfishness.' ~ Alveda King
"Even if Experience is the best Teacher, some people are lousy students."
'I release the need to be perfect and give of my best instead'
'It is only belief in limitation that holds us back, so relax, explore and grow'
The cavalry ain't coming.
You asked for original...here's mine but might be shaded with already quoted thoughts from the yesteryears...
"A toddler's eyes sparkle with excitement of the world around it and wants to explore,
a youth's eyes are focused with what it wants to conquer,
a middle aged' eyes are too busy with handling what it thinks is achieving,
finally, the old one's eyes look in awe at the innocent sparkle in a toddler knowing very well what it is yet to see takes a lifetime!"
Hope you like it! More to follow...
This is a Zen quote to ponder on-it used to baffle my fellow graduate students as I'd write it on chalkboards before every class...Oh, profs, too!:
It is warmer in the summer than it is in the mountains."
Mine for the day, which I'm thinking of taping on the bathroom mirror, is:
"Someone will win the lottery. Just not you."
Been a rough week.
People can believe in God without having to believe there is a God.
