I was checking for back links on some of my hubs and found many back links, but none in Google. I am not sure what it means exactly. Could use a little advice or knowledge.
64 backlinks in Yahoo for
backlinks in Google for
54 backlinks in MSN for
62 backlinks in AltaVista
62 backlinks in AlltheWeb
I removed the link I was searching back links to.As you an see there are a lot of back links to the hub, but none in Google. Are Google back links better than the other guys?
I have the same experiences. I have used various services to check the back links and I have seen some showed nothing and some showed positive results. My suggestion to you, just change your back-link checking tool and watch what happens. You may find some suitable way to get that.
Don't you think one's site would stand the risk of getting banned forever by google for trying to obtain direct access to their data?
Google is never friendly to automated queries.
The link operator in Google doesn’t report accurately, use yahoo instead.
I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but since y'all mentioned it, could someone provide some links to back link checking tools?
thanks!
Dineane
Google doesn't report all backlinks, use Yahoo or MSN instead. Try using this tool: http://tools.seobook.com/backlink-analyzer/
I have not had much success reporting backlinks in Google. Yahoo is much more useful in this area.
thanks for the link - I was hoping there was a website where you could paste your link. Are there any tools out there you do not have to download?
I assume SirDent was looking at the backlinks as listed in the Stats on HubPages, not on another program?
I signed up for Google Webmaster tools and was perplexed that it never found any backlinks to my own website - until I realised I had to set it up for http://bellydanceoz.com AND http://www.bellydanceoz.com. Who knew? Once I did that, I started getting data.

Hi Guys!I was wondering what tactics some of you use to gain natural backlinks to your hubs. I've read about using Yahoo Answers and am trying to find article directories that offer more than just spammy or unnatural links. I know writers like to keep things close to the vest if they work well, but...

There is a stigma associated with backlinks on HP that can sometimes leave those less experienced a little bit confused about what is allowed and disallowed by Google. While I won't go into that topic of conversation I wanted to go in to what types of links Google says are ok for you to setup...
