There is a new ad format we are testing on slideshows. Please see the details here:

We are looking forward to your feedback.
Blog post error 404... Guess it's not posted yet?
I checked it out. It looks and works great.
Some side notes:
There are probably lots of bird photo gallery hubs here. All of them by and for bird lovers. The ads that showed up were mostly for bird extermination companies (they call it "bird control").
The bear photo gallery hub worked out. Its ads were for vacationing where bears are.
Love it!
I don't produce photo gallery hubs, only informative ones, so this change will not have any impact on my earnings.
This certainly is a very great idea! If the ads will be highly relevant with the picture, I'm sure this one will pretty much work out!
I think it should be this;

Wow this is a great feature. I've been getting plenty of slideshow views and finally a way to get something out of it. Hope it works out well.
I realized that the hub I get most slideshow views on has just one ad appearing all the time - nothing HP can do about that
Note: The link to the forum post from the blog leads to a 404 error as well
"If you have a slideshow" - that means "if you have more than one photo," right? Or did that change while I was away?
I remember some discussion about the slideshow navigator covering up the bottom portion of the first photo. It appears that the ad will do that as well, but of course a viewer can ex out of it. Still, it may mean that we as publishers will want to be sure that the bottom strip of our photos is not essential. Even so, I'm happy to see additional opportunities to earn! - at least, when this is offered to everyone.
Slideshow = more than one photo on a hub.
It's too bad when the ad slides down, it says google ads rather than title of the ad may get more 'action'
js
This is great, BUT I just noticed the "slideshow views" column on my account page is now gone. Am I missing something?
It only appears if the number of slideshow views is a certain percentage of your hub views. You could always check it out by exporting the stats as a csv
I've always had a considerable amount of slideshow views, and I've ALWAYS seen that column there - you're telling me that suddenly at the same time that this change was implemented, I coincidentally have less slideshow views so it doesn't show anymore?
Yes that's what I'm saying and everyone would agree
I have lost my slideshow views too. It must be a glitch. I am thinking multiple lightening strikes on multiple servers.
Neither are mine. Sooooooo, how can one keep track of slide shows or possibly add slide shows when the stats are missing?
A company I use for non-Hub stuff, AdMedia uses photo-adverts in slide-show or static-photo overlay format. It displays ads based on the Real Photo Name, else the Alt Tags wrapped about the photo. Very targeted, hugely effective form of advertising.
Good stuff HubPages!
{now, how about some non-google based adverts, so folks like me can earn a bit too}
James.
How do we find out about our slide show stats? Almost all my Hubs are slide show eligible (and most of the photos are mine too).
Good on you HP!
My slide show views (and there are usually quite a few) are also completely missing from my account as others have reported. Is this a temporary glitch?
I do love the idea of being able to monetize slide show views and think this will be a great feature.
I think this will be a great addition. I do like it a lot. =]
This is wonderful! I love slideshows but was looking for the money! Very innovative and smart. I am glad HubPages is thinking all the time for us.
Has there been any response from the HP team yet about the lack of slideshow views some of us are seeing? Maybe I missed it.
I only just noticed that they are no longer showing on my stats page. I only found the other comments here after I posted a query about it.
I am pretty sure that some of my traffic came via people looking at my photos so it is a bit confusing when the stats. vanish.
Mine are back so they must have fixed whatever glitch was going on
