Yay!  No more excuses!  I finally switched over to the new profile this morning after adding photographs to my Hubs and doing some tweaking.  Change is good (gulp!).  I still have a lot of blanks to fill out, but it's looking good so far.  Now, I can get on with my life.  Whew!

Good for you. I switched over last week and love the new look. I have a bright blue photograph that looks like a border and it is really striking. I will come over and take a peek at yours. Regards ,H-bird.

This is good news, Arlene, because change is so hard to love. I am enjoying the new "feel" of the new profile. I enjoy visiting hubbers and seeing how creative they are (as much as is allowed). The photocentric profile page is actually quite inviting.

Went over to check out your new profile page and now I'm off to buy some lye!

Looks good!  I just did mine a couple of days ago-- still have some tinkering to do, but I'm going to try to leave my brains in my head.
It really does show off the individual hubs much better. (Your little black dog on the pavers looks like mine.)

Yay!  Hyphenbird, MarleneB and summerberrie:  Thank you!  I have a feeling that I will be toying with my new profile.  I've been accused of taking my brains out and playing with them, so what else is new?  LOL!  Time to get back into the writing groove since my "summer vacation" is nearly over.

I love your new profile, Arlene. I have been missing you while you have been away from writing. But, all things must come to an end and yes it does seem like the month of August went by really fast. I look forward to seeing you in September. smile

It's been neat to see the designs hubbers are coming up with for their backgrounds.  As I see new ones my thoughts on "best" designs continue to evolve.  I've seen a couple in the last few days that are unexpected standouts.  Makes me want to go play around with more, but there's real work to do right now. smile

I'm loving the new profiles, too.  I had a lot of fun making mine...  I like how easy it is to change the background, too.  And, I love how we can have profile pages that look different from one another!

Rochelle, when I looked up your profile, I finally got the courage to switching!  wordscribe43, I do know what you mean!  I am looking for a tiny photo to use for my background since everything I have is too big and way over the required the 2000 KB.  BooHoo!

RTalloni, maybe I'm in denial, but I don't remember a slow Hub Summer last year.  But you are so right!  This is the time to get back into the business of writing.  I gave myself permission to goof off for three months, but switching to this profile is a very good sign for me.  No use dragging my butt and my heels.  Better to switch to the new profile before it is done for you!

Marlene, even while working on my tan, I have been working on ideas for my writing.  It is as if my brains won't give me a break--even when I decide to do nothing!  LOL!  You are still the writing bullet that you were when you started here.  Even better!  Congratulations on your latest HOTD.   Catching up with you in September, and looking forward to it!

Arlene, thank you so much for your compliments. I hope you know that a lot of my inspiration comes from you. I like your spirit - your attitude about things. Whenever I need a "real world" check in this virtual cyber world, I go see what Arlene is doing. You are always your usual and normal self. You bring me back to life. It's fun talking to you. I'm glad I met you here. Anyway, you probably have a pretty good tan by now... time to get back to work. In the meantime, it's good to know you'll be back in the swing of things soon.

Upgraded profile in the hopes of getting more views. Question: the 'others you may like' is 3 hubbers I didn't know - I blacklisted them until I can read those hubbers hubs. I wonder how hubpages chooses which 'others you may like' and why can't I choose my own.

My bio is blank because I hand links to other stuff I do - and new profile won't allow links in bio - nor can I add the links other than the canned links such as facebook, pinterest, et al.

And there is no way I can .....

Good questions!  Most of the Hubbers that were selected for me either share mutual followers.  Or they don't.  Most of them are not familiar names to me.

Whoops!  Thanks for bringing up the links.  I have edited my profile not to show them, but I could get dinged for mentioning my other online activities.  I guess the idea is to stay here and not wander.
