This is my video hub
http://goodlady.hubpages.com/video/How- … live-Trees
I've looked at my hub a few times in the past 24-30 hours and the video material that plays is not my video (my own GoodLady video).
The first material that appeared in the video spot was Eastern and disgusting - a colored fetus, an oriental man in a hat.
The second was an ad ad for some book (some woman was promoting this book)
And this evening it was a chat show promoting some third rate TV celeb.
Here is a photo taken from the second imposter - the ad for the book.
My browser is firefox
I'd like you to look into it asap. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.
I haven't checked my other GoodLady video hubs as yet.
Does anyone else have this bizarre bug?
We are testing some preroll video ads. You should only be able to see one every 24 hours at the very most. Most people will never see one during the test.
We'll look into the contents of the ads. The ads come from Google, but they should follow our account quality guidelines.
I don't like videos at the best of times. Very occasionally, I do watch them if there is a performance I want to see.
However, I NEVER EVER watch a video that attempts to thrust an advertisement at me before I can see what I am planning to see! In such situations, I leave the page immediately.
What is bizarre and incredibly unlikely given the once in 24 hour info is that two days in a row, at different times, when I happened to be checking my hub, I get this 'video material'.
Yesterday I checked again and the chat show video played on and on for several minutes - this time with a 'skip this ad ' option.
It is very very odd.
A guest at my house, who is an SEO expert for a big German newspaper, was helping me with my webmaster learning thought it was weird.
I tell you this so you know it isn't just my inexperienced voice telling you how weird!
Hope you find out what the mystery is about.
Thanks Penelope
It's not odd- it's exactly what I'd expect Hubpages to do with your videos- they are running ads at the start to make money from them. That's the purpose of Hubpages after all - to make money for their investors.
Once, a long time ago, they used to actually care about their content producers e.g. you, but that went by the board a number of years ago.
FYI in NZ i'm seeing an add about a local bank supporting agricultural education - not a bad fit, but way, way too long, it's been running for all the time I've been typing this - and as a viewer I will turn it off before I ever see your video. (Actually the ad is in a continuous loop and I'm not even getting to your video). Pathetic HP
I saw some bovine-eyed, ugly moronic-looking woman advertising l'Oreal cosmetics. That was enough to make switch off the video. Fortunately, you have a proper article underneath the video, which I was able to read, and which was far more interesting to me than any video would be.
Perhaps you could put the article above the video? Then any stupid ads will have played themselves out before the reader gets that far.
Incidentally, my daughter and boyfriend are off tomorrow to spend a week in a B+B in Tuscany run by someone from the UK. I wonder if it is you?????
The same thing is happening in my video hubs. The worst thing is that these adds don't stop and there is no way of stopping them. What's going on? Testing?
More about this in another thread here:

Hoping we might get some answers that make sense soon. These ads are so bad and they completely ruin the videos.
I am networking a particular video hub at the moment, but worry that the weird ad stuff will put my 'markets' off.
Such a crying shame.

I hope this is in the right forum. I am trying to figure out what went wrong with my hub. The second day I was on the first page of google. I realized that I hadn't put the right title, I meant to change it before I published it and had forgot. so I went back and change the title....

Just a question. Why is that when I try to search for my hubs using words in the title, that they do not come up when I search hub pages? I tried "Queer." and "Camping" and the ones I was looking for never showed up. I also tried doing a search by date, and nothing.I hope...
