I've been getting bad comments on my hubs lately. They are either spam or someone saying bad things about me or my friend that has nothing to do with the hubs themselves. Most of them go into spam but today I got a few comments that were not considered spam. They were saying bad things about me and my friend. All these comments came from people who either don't have Hub account or don't login. I went into the hubs that had those comments to see if they appear on the hub until I approve them and those comments were there even though I didn't approve them. Why was that? I thought comments have to be approved before they appear on hubs. Where can I find out the settings for this? Please help. Is there a way to block an IP address from having access to hubs and being able to comment on them...?
If you log out and then go to the hub, you should not see anything you have not approved. If you still do, you haven't done the setup properly. If you are logged in when you visit the hub you will see everything, approved or not.
You can request HP to block IP addresses - just report the comments and make a request that the IP be blocked.
I logged off and then went back to the hub and I saw the comment there.
I denied the comment and then it vanished from there.
Check your settings for comments in the "Comments" section of your account, and click "Yes" for "Comments must be approved before they appear".
Found it. Thanks. The settings were set to comments needing approval before appearing.

Pretty much like one would have it on a blog - with the difference that I am talking about hubtivity here.I had posted a single comment to one of the hubs a while ago. I am not too interested in the topic, just wanted to share my experience and forget. Well, the thing is - for many months this hub...

I've only written a handful of Hubs so far, and I knew that I would encounter this issue due to the nature of my writing. I have one Hubber who continues to post personal insults in the comments of all of my Hubs. This individual has also indicated that he votes down my pages because he...

Did you ever deny a comment or two from your hub? And if yes, why?

Is it only me, or are there others who think that it should be a common courtesy to reply to comments made to a hub. I always reply to comments made by my followers and others, and people who I follow do the same. I have noticed however, that some hubbers have comments left on their page, and they...

I know that it is against HP rules for someone to place a link in a comment of a hub, but is it okay for someone to place a link in a comment when answering a question, even if it directs people back to their hub? Also, it seems to be okay to place links in the forums' comments, as the link...
