While doing some editing on my profile I came across "Others You Might Like" Blacklist. What is that?
If there's a Hubber you really, really hate; you can put their profile link there and this will assure that their profile link never shows on your profile page. So far, my list remains blank.
So "Others You Might Like" "blacklist" means it is really a list of others you don't like?
Yes.
A synonym for "blacklist" would be "sh*t list".
"Others You Might Like" is the section that shows under your Hub, listing Hubs on the same topic by other people.
If you notice Hubs in that section which you don't want displayed, check the Hubber's name and enter that in the blacklist. Their Hubs will no longer be displayed.
Can you point to some documentation on that? I just went and tried that and it doesn't appear to work.
I can't find any instructions, I just found out by trial and error.
Thanks. I'll let the experiment run through tomorrow in case it's a periodic batch-run thing as opposed to real time. Darned thing is I really like that Hubber, but that hub of hers is definitely a big, fat leak on my page.
LindaSmith1 speaks with unforked tongue...
"You can add up to 3 usernames to a blacklist. Users on the blacklist are not going to be displayed in the Others You May Like Box."
Nope! If you put the user url in there, it is rejected. All you need is the profile name. I know because I have done it already.
My post was to agree with your post. In other words, you are right. Forked tongues lie. Unforked tongues tell the truth. Your tongue is unforked.
Too late. The world has ended as we know it.

Hi I have just changed to the new profile format and I'm fairly happy with it so far. However, I'm a bit bemused by the 'others you might like …' section.I am generally agnostic, and do not believe in Biblical religion. A number of my hubs reflect this. I also write about evolution versus...

I have a question for you. Is there any way to block hubs on the 'Related Hubs' section? For example, I have a page that talks about my experience with the hCG diet and points out that it is not only dangerous but illegal too. Then, you scroll down my page and, look, a bunch of...

What is the rationale (if any) the HP Team uses to impose "Others You Might Like" on one's profile page?I look at the three "Others You Might Like"--Hubbers listed on my profile page--noting that we share at least one mutual follower, or, in one instance, five. When I check out...

We have the option to blacklist certain hubbers from appearing on our hubs as "Others You May Like." Is there a possibility that a similar feature can be added to the forum? There are often contentious exchanges between forum posters that can be distracting for those...

I, for one, and mystified by how they choose which hubbers to put in this section. The ones on my page seem to have little in common with me. Not that they are bad, I just don't see why HubPages thinks readers who like me would necessarily be more likely to like their hubs than anyone else. The...
