I'm finding things in my feed from hubbers I've never heard of. I try to unfollow, but messages keep appearing. Forum links pop up repeatedly when I've unfollowed. What's the deal? I like to follow certain hubbers or stories, but how can I stop these unwanted messages? Any advice appreciated. I have to go to bed now, but will read in the morning, ( my birthday!)

The feed is also populated with items that we think you might also like and is not always activity you explicitly follow .  This comes from forums, topics, and such that a user frequents.

You might want to review the things you do explicitly do follow here:
      http://hubpages.com/my/activity/topics-following
      http://hubpages.com/my/activity/hubs-following

As @LindaSmith1 mentioned, you might want to uncheck the settings to automatically follow content.

Thanks, I thought I had unfollowed some of the things already. Will check if I'm not doing it properly.

Whenever you read a hub, there is a box that refers to follow. If you do not uncheck that box, you will be considered to be a follower of that hub. This also happens with the questions asked here as well. I am surprised that you are not getting an influx of email messages with all of these hubs, every comment made etc.

If you've commented on a popular thread, you may have left the "follow this forum discussion" box checked so any new posts are showing up in your feed.

    Happy birthday! smile
