Just wondering if the author's own visits count in the stats.
I hope not, as I'd like to think the numbers show 'real' people. Obviously when I'm making a new hubpage I look at it quite a few times, both in edit and preview mode. I also go back and check on them from time to time when I'm thinking about changing them. Do these visits count?
Yep, I'm pretty sure they do. I usually take a single check of a new hub then try to stay away from unless some editing needs doing.
I could be wrong, and would love to be corrected
I was beginning to suspect that my own visits do count.
In the grand scheme of things a few visits from yourself will pale in significance to having thousands and hopefully hundreds of thousands of pageviews.
I think they do, at least some times. Perhaps the algorithm includes them occasionally.

We've had a problem on our primary stats machine this morning. We're working on getting it fixed. In the mean time, you won't be able to access the statistics and traffic graphs for individual hubs.
