I'm almost afraid to ask...is there an error in anyones page views in the last 2 days?  My views have gone from a little more than 1,000 to over 22,000 this morning!  I have never had this happen before and I'm afraid it's a mistake.  Please tell me I can get excited!  smile

Have that checked out - can you look at the traffic sources?  There have been malicious attacks on the site that churn thousands of views - report it to HP and to Google.

Hi Marcy. Google shows 2,603, facebook show over 1,000, etc.  I am not familiar with this site, imgur.com, it show the most views with over 15,000.  I looked at the site, but I am not sure exactly what it is. Is this many views from there a good thing?

imgur appears to be a social site for sharing images.  One of yours must have been a big hit!  Congrats!

Thank you Eric!  It is my "Meet Zoe - The Rare Golden Zebra" hub. I have not had this happen before, so I was afraid it was a mistake.  Apparently it was a big hit somewhere, but it has been short lived.  It has gone from over 22,000 to just over 2,000 now, but what a ride it was!  smile

I'd double check the figures with Google Analytics and then (hopefully) get excited smile

I think the traffic is probably coming from the link posted in the comments here:

and the photo got on imgur.com from this post on reddit:

Are all the views on one particular hub? If so I'd say check the traffic sources for that hub first and see if anything is out of the ordinary. Maybe you got lucky and it was "shared" in a good place. If that's the case, then enjoy it while it lasts. smile

I had a similar rush of traffic to one of my music hubs about two weeks ago. It turned out that the band I wrote about posted a link to the Hub on their official Facebook page, so my page views on that one blew up like crazy for about three days straight. It's back down to its normal day-to-day views now but it was certainly fun to watch!!

I'm not sure where it started, but google, facebook, yahoo, bing, etc. all show relative numbers.  I am now excited!  Up to a little over 23,000 now. I will enjoy this for as long as it lasts. I was just so afraid it was too good to be true.   In a year and half, nothing near this has happened before!  smile

That sounds really nice:) congrats! Think every writer's main aim is to have his/her hubs well received and widely read:)

Still kinda new at this and learning the ropes, kinda torn between writing what I like or what I think will be popular haha.

Hi FatFreddyscat!  Apparently it was popular on imgur.com.  Not the picture I used, which was the original, (with permission from the photographer), but it got me a lot of views.  It did great for about 2 days, and is going back to normal now, but what a ride it was!  smile

I like the full-body shot - should be a good companion piece to the headshot.
