If you had a machine that could travel through Space and Time, would you go to the past or the future?

What year would you go to and why?

I think that we would already know if there was a time machine after all wouldn't someone from the future have come back and let us know about it?.....jimmy

Good point Jimmy... love the name by the way :-)
I think the theory is that if we were able to travel through time it would just be as witnesses, we wouldn't really be able to interfere or even get involved in day-to-day activities... that would mess things up a bit... but who knows??

I would like to check out the future but would be a little worried about running into some Morlock's! : )

Yes --- those Morlocks were pretty scary for sure!
Thanks for that Wayne, I am just about to hit the hay and I am sure I will have very pleasant dreams now!

I would poke around in the future to see if there really is a time when a Utopian society does indeed exist. If it does, I probably wouldn't come back.

I'd go into the past to meet Jesus, although I wouldn't be able to speak ancient greek or the other Middle-Eastern languages...

I'd go back ten seconds before the big bang

That's not a bad idea. I would then hang around for those 10 seconds. At which point I would then become one with the universe. For eternity. Everywhere. Wherever one went, paradigmsearch would be a part of you. But, wait! I already did that. And I wasn't supposed to tell about it either. Oh, well. big_smile

You could be a crazy inventor... invent something that none of us ever even knew we needed...
I see your name up in lights! cool

Yeah, it's probably cliche, but I would like to go to the time of Christ and follow him around. I would want to be present at the crucifixion in hopes that witnessing it would cause me to live for him with my whole heart and not be so self focused at times.

Doesn't matter if it's a cliché or not Beth... it's what you think which counts.
Going to the Crucifixion would be a very harrowing experience but I take your point about why you would do it... thanks for sharing this

I'd grab a pen and paper and head just far enough into the future to get the winning numbers of big lotto draws on every continent ... then come back and buy the tickets.

I would greatly enjoy redistributing the wealth to help out a lot of people, including a few I can think of here on HP. smile

Great answer LongTimeMother... right, I will go and get the engine started up for you.
By the way, I need $100,000 of help... smile
