When I first signed up with GA I used hubpages.com Later I added my subdomain address. However, my account is set up with property name hubpages.com and default URL my subdomain. I believe this is incorrect. Thus Webmaster Tools are saying that my sites are not verified. What do I need to do? Thank you.
Hi brakel2! This Learning Center guide will walk you through the process of getting your subdomain set up with GA: http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/How- … ster-Tools
Went through this guide, but my listing seems to be ok. Both my HP subdomains are listed on Webmaster correctly. However, neither is able to verify. I get the same message that others have been getting.
Also Google Analytics is tracking my subdomain ok.
This comes down to how Google chooses to index the content.
In some cases they are indexing it on hubpages.com and not on a user's sub-domain.
Unfortunately, this issue is on Google's end and they do not see it as a bug.
We have no control over how or when Google chooses to index content.
OK. Here's something I just figured out: When I first signed on to Google Analytics I used the same tracking number for both my HP sites. Google indexed hubpages.com and combined my traffic from both sites. A few days ago, before posting my most recent message on this thread, I deleted hubpages.com, listed my two subdomains separately, was assigned a new tracking number, different for each (UA-xxxxxxxx-2, UA-xxxxxxxx-3) and now each subdomain is being tracked separately. Hubpages.com no longer appears on my Google Analytics site. (Now to test Webmaster Tools for verification again.)
My hubs and questions are not totally indexed. GWT says the server is preventing crawling of some and also indicates a problem with the robots txt.file. I have 2 errors and 135 URLs not found. When I run my site on Google, half my hubs are not indexed, and almost all questions have no information. Google Webmaster tools say this problem has existed for 60 days. I found this information after I followed the procedure to verify my site on GWT.
I might add I have verified my site in the past and also submitted a site map. Let us hope for success.
I decided to run an HP site search to see if any hubs were indexed there. I only ran two but found both indexed under site:hubpages.com. So maybe they might all be indexed. Forgive my several entries, but I worked diligently to follow up on this issue. I also found a few articles from other writers there. What is the significance of these findings? Thank you.
I responded to your email, so check your inbox. Additionally, to see how many pages are indexed, go to Google Webmaster Tools and click on 'Health' from the left menu, then on 'Index Status.' That will take you to a page which will show how many webpages (Hubs) are indexed for your subdomain.
This is a known issue on Google's end, you can find the related thread here.

I've just checked WMT and my second HP subdomain is likewise not verified and I can't complete the process. Checked through the forum and found a similar problem (marked "Fixed") - this is my problem exactly.
Here's the link to the previous thread: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/111895
Can each of you try paradigmsearch's method in this post? It worked for a few others after the bug was fixed a couple of months ago.
I read that post before I posted on this thread and tried out the suggestions (including Pardigmsearch's) - it didn't work. Just tried it again, and got the same message as before:
Verification failed for http://www. .hubpages.com/ using the Google Analytics method (less than a minute ago). Your verification file returns a status of 404 (Not found) instead of 200 (OK).
Just to be clear, this isn't happening on this (Judi Bee) account, it's my second account. GA is set up and works for that subdomain.
Hrm ok. Let me check with Edward (who fixed the bug last time) and get back to you!
I read paradigmsearch's thread. Tried approaching the issue both from the Google analytics side and by directly pasting Google's verification code, but neither worked. I don't have the "www" in my URL. My Google Analytics shows Hubpages as the "Main Account," watergeek.hubpages.com as the "Property" and Watergeek as the "Profile." Is that the correct setup?
Seventeen hubs are not on my subdomain. Can I fetch them? Google is not crawling them. What about my traffic ? If I make changes, no one will ever see them. What about income? I have no control of my own hubs. I will appreciate anything you can do or any info you can give me as reassurance about these hubs and that they are not affecting my traffic or income. My hub that gets the most views is one of the 17. Thank you.

Hello. I have some questions regarding Google Analytics and Webmaster tools. Any help is greatly appreciated. When I checked my webmaster tools, I saw a lot of URL errors, a 404 crawl error because apparently "Googlebot couldn't crawl this URL because it points to a non-existent page"....

I went into Webmaster Tools this evening, and it is saying my site isn't verified. When I click to verify, it says the Google Analytics code is in the wrong location. My Google Analytics account is working.Am I the only one? If so, what can I do to fix this? Thanks!!

I can see some of my new hubs in Google when I search for "hub name".But in Webmaster Tools, I submitted a sitemap and it says 38 URLs submitted and 10 indexed.I used Fetch as Google for a few new hubs and ticked some as URL for new page and URL for re-crawling the site.I also have some...

What is the deal with the HP blog post about optimizing Hubpages and Adsense? The was supposedly written by a Google employee (Tran) for HP writers, but the info that is in it is misleading. Yes, write unique content that is for the reader not the...

This hub has already generated a few organic links and tweets but it's no where to be found on Google. Was it not indexed?http://thunderkeys.hubpages.com/hub/Def … hip-Series

I’m still finding my way around these, and I mostly only look at the most basic things like which Hubs do best in search and the ‘query terms’ in WT (and of course I’m transfixed by GA real-time!). Does anyone use GA and WT in more interesting ways – and has anyone written a good Hub on good...
