Why would ads be turned off on a hub about domestic abuse?

It seems very strange the Hubpages would turn ad earnings off a Hub that is about a timely and important topic as this.  This hub in not about sex but about domestic violence/abuse.  Any thoughts?

They feel ads might be inappropriate for such serious subject matter. I have a Hub about Mary Ellen Wilson, a little girl who was abused. Her case was instrumental in changing child abuse laws in America. Ads were removed from it instantly for the above reason according to the HP team response. I left it up because I believe people need to know this information. It has had many views and I don't receive a penny. You can leave your Hub published without ads if you choose. It is disappointing, I know.

Quite possibly, they are for things like drug abuse and anorexia.

Actually, you still make money even without the Adsense ads if you also use the HP payment program.

I am saying Hubpages itself has a history of turning off ads for topics like this.
