I know, big deal; but it is to me.
This is the first time I've earned over $1 for my hubs - whoop, whoop!!
Did anyone else get this excited over so little money?
Yep and Mark is so right any income is to get excited about
Congratulations! I remember the first money I earned here and I was excited too. Keep writing and you'll see much more in the future.
You earned it and you have every right to be excited. Congrats and well done. Here's to many more!
Congrats and keep earning more and more, I still remember my first amazon sale through HP three years back.
Congrat MagKaye, I also aim to earn $50 per day, although I am not closser at all for now, I pray that Almighty God make it easy.
Congrats! You should be proud of yourself. My goal is to earn $1 in a day. The most I've reached is .88 cents, so I'm getting close lol.
Congrats... this is the first step. You have many more to go. Keep up the good work..
I'm looking so forward to hitting that $1.00 for a day's work for the first time. Almost there yesterday, I feel your excitement. Congrats!
Jan, At the rate you are writing hubs, you should be there any time now.
The first one is the most difficult. I'm sure you'll make many more now!
I haven't earned that sweet $1 yet, but I can only imagine the elation. Way to go!
I don't want to make anyone jealous, but I have earned .29 cents already this month alone. If anyone needs any tips on success, don't be afraid to ask. Even with this level of success, Im still very approachable.
I'm glad to hear that you haven't let it go to your head.
ha ha ha! Beth37. That made me snort out loud - thanks :-)
Approaching you tentatively…I can't seem to get a straight answer..to get twenty nine wonderful cents, how may views did you need for what length of time?
The amount you earn on the HP Ad Program is calculated daily. So, you earn daily. The Ad Program is based on CPM, which means that it is based on so much money per 1,000 views. If you only have 100 views per day, you will still earn a prorated portion. The CPM varies widely and daily, because it depends upon what advertisers are willing to pay for the subjects you write about. It could be $2 per thousand views or $12. In addition, you earn money for affiliates such as Amazon, eBay and others you might choose. Amazon and eBay pay only when someone buys something.
I have just started the money earning part. Not anywhere close to a $1 yet. High hopes that one day I will! Congratulations.
Thanks for all the encouraging words, everyone. I landed up making 3 whole dollars in October! Yeppers - $3!
Oddly my hubs have suddenly taken off in the past month and are getting loads of views. Weird that it's all of a sudden, but I did read on the forum that, for some reason, October seems to be a good month on HubPages.
Good luck to everyone else and thanks again for the responses!
Yes, I did!
When I saw my first 0.10 after a few days of being approved for adsense I even did a victory dance. Now I have a little more than USD 1.00 in my account.
It feels good to know this may work, even if it takes a very long term to actually earn a decent amount.
Yes, because it's a big step in the right direction. It gets you motivated to write more and promote Hubs when you realize there is money to be made doing so. Good Luck!
Now you inspired me! I will also make that first dollar. I will!
A big congrats!
These milestones, whether big or small, keep us motivated that someone is reading our words.
For some that is all that matters, and for some (like me), it is that someone is reading, and that I'm making a bit of income
Keep it up!
It was a milestone for me too. I was earlier frustrated at the meagre cents that were coming in every day.
Yes, $1 a day is yummy good money!
Sounds like some folks have been experiencing an upswing in views. Mine have doubled over last month during this last week. I was not sure if it was due to a few Editors Choice additions on my account or just a general trend.
How are everyone's overall views doing? When things were off in August everyone was very vocal. I don't hear the complaints anymore.
Congratulations! I've been pumped because I got approved on the 1st and I've earned 17 cents so far. At the brink of giving up, I got some hope and it has encouraged me to keep writing!
Congrats! It took me a while to earn my first dollar. Keep it up and soon you'll have your first pay check.
Oh, yeah! I was excited after I started earning pennies, and ever since then I have checked my earnings every day.
It makes you proud, because on here you really have to work your but off.. combine with other blogs one can work from home. lol
Congratulations! I'm excited for you. I'm new to this whole process and finding it does take a while to earn any money. Way to stay dedicated!
Congrats, it always feel so good to earn the first one dollar, but keep working and i am sure you will be able to earn more than that very soon,
Congratulations to you and best of luck in the future here.
Thanks again, everyone, for your encouragement.
Long may the earnings last!
yes itz a moment of happiness when you earned for the first time .I too was very excited when i earned for the first time.
Congratulations!
That's definitely exciting!
I haven't even come close to getting a payout yet. I have earned somewhere in the neighbourhood of $1.75, but that's a culmination of about 8 months worth of earnings. lol. I would be over the moon if one of my hubs earned me a big ol' loonie. lol. I posted a hub about two days ago and it made me a whole nickel richer in about 24 hrs. I told me husband "My hub earned a nickel in the last 24 hours!" And he just blinked at me. Lol. He doesn't get it quite the way everyone on here seems to.
Keep plugging away everyone!
Well done MagKaye, It is a milestone...I am on 97c for the month so far and looking forward to cracking the $1.00 mark tomorrow.

Hi Hubbers, I'm a newbie, and I didn't come here expecting to make big bucks. But I'm excited about earning my first penny here after six days, five hubs, and 61 views. Many seasoned hubbers have advised newbies not to stress about views, hubber scores, and other metrics. But I wonder, what...

I had hoped to make my first payout this month, but realized it was a stretch as I would have to once more double the previous month's earnings. I went to bed needing only a few more dollars and hoped to make it today.Checked adsense first thing this morning (of course! ) and had earned 3...

What a joy, no limit for my happiness. My hub has been selected for this week's HubNuggets. Thanks HubNuggets team and each and every one on HubPages who supported and helped me so far.Between, is it permitted to add a vote request for me in my profile page with a link?

I landed another writing job through HP yesterday! This guy stumbled upon some of my hubs and has hired me to write some articles for him. I'm already writing for several others who liked my hubs, and they're keeping me pretty busy. In fact, I might have to pass some of these new articles on to my...

Hi, Im sorry, but I am so excited. I just landed a freelance job writing for Examiner.com. Besides hubpages, this is the only one that I have been able to get paid for my writing since I came back from my sabbatical that lasted almost 4 years. I used to be a full time freelance writer until a life...

I never earn very much on Adsense, so I'm extremely excited. I have 10 hubs on there, plus a blog. The entire $5.08 was from one of my hubs; to date, this hub has earned $24.02 (it's been up for a few months).Just wanted to share my progress, because I know how discouraging it can be to...
