Hi, would love to get our profile page links (eg the Facebook, Pinterest etc etc in the top right) opening in a new window when they are opened. It is really annoying to try to follow someone, then navigate back to the HP site without pressing back back back all the time!
Can we make them open in a new window whenever they're clicked on?
A somewhat similar request was made regarding opening links in a new window in a recent forum thread.
We deliberately do not open links in new windows.
Paul Deeds has an explanation for the reasoning in the thread linked below (the main being accessibility and usability).
Here is the links Paul refers to in that thread.

Thanks for posting this question Suzanne. I had been wondering about that myself.
And thaks for the explanation Matthew.

It would be nice for the links in the links capsule to open in a new window. Especially since a lot of us are providing several links to other relevant content sites...so readers can stay with us or come back without needing to use the back button.

I really do like the suggestion link, But.....could it be changed to Open in a NEW window or Tab? I am all for helping promote HP, but sending readers away from my Hubs is not the right way to do that and I am not for that. Seems in a couple of hubs where I have added the suggestion links the...

I was discussing outbound links with Ghost32 the other day.Lissie posted this comment in another thread:At the time, she said this seemed to be true, as sites where she had outbound links were getting good traffic - however, that didn't necessarily mean better earnings. Any update,...
