I haven't written many hubs but my main concern is how do I get more followers?
The best way to get more followers is to just not worry about it. Keep on writing and interfacing with the HP community and you will get more followers organically over time. Don't try to get them by bulk following hundreds of other hubbers or you will find your hubber score plummeting
Followers will come. Participate in the forums, keep writing, and read some work from other Hubbers, and follow the ones you like. Over time, your list of followers will increase. Of course, if you are looking to make money here, followers are far less important than readers from outside of HP.
How do you go about marketing your Hub for readers outside of HP?
Social media and back links (I'm sure there's more). Blast it wherever you can (twitter, facebook, stumble, etc.). Can't hurt. And if you have other websites, make sure you put a link up to your HP. Also helps to be on this forum, but watch out, it's addicting!
I'm still learning, as well. Us newbies gotta stick together. So much to learn!
Which type? Internal or external? To be a follower at HP naturally one must be a member. Followers outside of HP one may never know as shared by others except with monitoring overall readership. Google Analytics helps with that. For instance I know who many followers are by going to my profile page → followers.
A skim will show most (for me) are U.S. base. Yet, at Google Analytics it is discovered about 50% of my readership is Europe. A wild guess conclusion is followers in Europe are not HP based and followers in U.S. is HP based. Again, a wild guess.
For HP followers like suggested you can game it with hope of bulk respondents. I have discovered more followers arrive from hubs and other activity. One may presume those are who will read another hub sooner or later as they are shared with morning email announcements. That offers a greater worth with value.
That is how I do a large amount of choosing what to read . . . the email sharing what is freshly published by whom I follow. Usually that leads to an interaction and others see that interaction too when a comment is shared. That leaves fate tendering a follower.
I find that following other hubbers, engaging in their hubs with kind feedback, and posting in the forums has brought me a much larger following than when I just concentrated on the writing aspect.
Keep writing quality hubs... That's what everyone keeps telling me! ;-)
Followers are hard to come by these days. Nobody seems inspired in that regard any more.
Post more hubs and be active in the community. Don't worry about followers, if you're a good writer and you're active on the forums, answering questions, reading and commenting hubs, etc; they will come!
Engagement with community and quality hubs. If do one or the other you wont get many followers, you have to do both.
(I'm saying this as someone with zero followers though )
I use Hootsuite and have been for years. Works great for what I need. I used to have several accounts, but only use the one now. It's free, unless you want the upgrade, which I never have. Also, I'm on a lot of blogger sites (mainly mom/women) that i can submit links to on forums. It's a lot of extra work, but I try to hit them all anytime I post. Who knew writing was so much work? ;-) Cheers!

Hello,I am new here in HubPages. Just signed up for an account a few days ago and I barely got any followers. I would like to know some tips on how to increase my number of followers aside of course, from writing a great hub and following other hubbers.
