I have an article that I think is pretty good but it doesn't get enough traffic. I'm hoping that some of you can help me with the title.
Any ideas will be appreciated:
Save Money using the Sun: How to use the Sun to Survive Off the Grid or in a Collapse
That is the current title..any ideas to make it more marketable?
Here is the actual hub: http://brie-hoffman.hubpages.com/hub/Ho … f-the-Grid
Solar Power Makes Economic Sense, perhaps? or maybe Solar Sense Makes Money Sense...just off the top of my head! Or even Stack up Savings with Solar Energy..
Gotta scatter the phrases, "solar power" and "solar energy", around in there; both title and content. As for using the word, "solar", twice in the title... Maybe, maybe not.
Yep..you are right on! I just did a key word search..so I changed the title to "9 Ways to Save Money using Solar Power". That should do it, I hope.
I'm going to try "9 Ways to Save Money using Solar Power".
Thanks, we will see. I'll let you know how it does in the next few weeks.
Lists do really well on Pinterest! I can see that 20 things about New York and 9 ways to beat the new world order as good examples... do up an image for them and I'll pin them too!
What do you mean do up an image for them? Do you mean take a picture?
No, I mean use an image at the top right of the hub which will encourage people to pin and repin it. I usually use free use images. I have hubs on finding free use images and making MFPs.
Here is an example of an MFP image I have with somewhere around 100,000 pins.
Is this using picmonkey because I tried to download that and couldn't for some reason.
Yes, that was made in Picmonkey. Picmonkey does not need any downloads, it works in your browser.
Hmm, I'll have to look for it again. I tried what I thought was a download and it messed up my computer.
http://www.picmonkey.com/
There should be no downloads at all.
Thanks, I must have been on the wrong website.
I really have to thank you. I've changed about 5 of my hubs using picmonkey and the traffic is really taking off. I can't thank you enough.
"How To Revert To Solar Power In Case Of An EMP Attack" would gain some interest.
You can Google EMP attack to get the gist of what and why this is a popular subject now and for the past year or so.
I know what an EMP attack is, thanks for the suggestion.
What about keeping your original title, but deleting the words "use the sun to"? Then it would read: Save Money using the Sun: How to Survive Off the Grid or in a Collapse
Since changing it to the above mentioned title it now has two arrows straight up!!!!
I'd recommend using more "matching" colours on your MFPs. You need the text to work with the picture, not try and compete.
How about, "How the Sun Saves Money, Surviving off the Grid"
Since changing it to the above mentioned title it now has two arrows straight up!!!!
Thanks for all your help!
Thanks, it is getting more traffic, hopefully it's not just you guys..not that there's anything wrong with that!

A year or two ago, I posted a thread where I offered to give feedback on hubs and how to improve them. I then went on to write a post based on the most common mistakes I saw people making (you can read it on the slider on my profile.)This time, I'm going to offer title suggestions. Post ONE title...

I finally tried including a Made for Pinterest (MFP) image in my latest Hub! WryLilt and others have provided great tips on how to do this to increase traffic. I decided to give it a try.I attempted to add the text to the photo using GIMP 2 (a free graphics program), but this was not...

I just wrote a hub on making money with HubPages but wanted to make sure it's ok before publishing. I know you are not supposed to mention what you are earning on HP, but is it ok to use titles like 'How To Earn $1000 per month on Hubpages', or 'How To Make $1 Million On Hubpages'? I don't...

Is there a way to have the mini picture next to the title of your hub be a photo not in your hub?For example, my newest hub "Basic Tennis Terms every Beginner Should Know," has the first picture in my article next to the title of it. But it's not a good summary of my article so I would...
