Welcome Previous Squidoo and New HubPage Writers,
I am rather new to HubPages myself, but I wanted to extend a warm greeting to HubPages. My question to all of you is: how do you like it so far? I myself was never a Squidoo writer so I am asking earnestly. Is there something's that we have that Squidoo did not? Or vise versa?

Last thing, I heard that some writers wrote some negative comments about lenses, and I offer my apologies for them. Remember, don't let people pee in your Cheerios! That is just a saying we have in the Marines which means, don't let other people get under your skin.

Have a Wonderful Time on HubPages,
                                                                Alli Rose

Thanks! I was looking for some sort of welcome or "Newbies Start Here" place on the forums. I've only written two here so far, and am trying to get settled in, get my feet wet.

      Hi Alli Rose

I was just trawling my way through HubPages to see what's what (so much to learn!) and your 'Welcome Mat' caught my eye!  Thank you, what lovely welcome note.

HubPages is so new to me that it's difficult to compare it to Squidoo.  Definitely lots and lots to learn and many changes ... but change is usually a really great thing in the end.

Seth Godin and Team created a wonderful platform for us all and here's hoping Paul Edmondson and Team will create an even greater platform - then we'll ALL prosper.  So Yay, I'm looking forward ... and hoping to fit in.

Another warm welcome on the forum.  I think I'm going to like this place.

I decided to jump right in and create a couple hubs so as to familiarize myself with how everything works.  I really like the way the editor is set up and how easy it is to work with capsules.  The templates intimidated me at first, but I'm finding them useful.

I also appreciate the Learning Center.  I feel there is a huge effort made to be clear on how Hubpages works.

The only thing I miss is the background templates.  They did dress up pages.  But, I'll get used to Hubpages and how it looks in time.

      Thanks for the welcome!

Hi, I'm enjoying working on HubPages since moving over from Squidoo. I like many of the features of  Hub building that we didn't have in Squidoo, but there are things Squidoo had that you don't. In any event, I'm having a great time here. I've written three Hubs which are all featured (WAHOO!) and I've earned 3.56 cents in just a few days. So things are looking up. I'm a veteran of the Women's Army Corps, and we had a saying that I adapt to our situation of the moment:  "There's a right way, a wrong way, and a HubPages way." Thanks for your warm welcome, glad to be here.

I'm a long time Squidoo lensmaster and have nothing negative to say about HubPages . . . yet.  I'm just distressed that apparently it is going to take 30-45 days to transfer my Squidoo lenses to HubPages so that I can edit and maintain them.  Such a long delay is hurting my business.

What are you doing for 30-45 days?  Manually reformatting Squidoo lenses to HubPages format?  You should have foreseen the job and put automatic processes in place before buying Squidoo and authorizing the transfer of hundreds of thousands of Squidoo lenses to HubPages.

Thanks Alli.  I was hoping there would be some kind of welcome to HubPages page on here and I finally found one!

I can't wait to get started and write some lens - whoops - Hubbages.

Mostly I write about crap but hey... it's the internet.

    Thanks for the welcome.

I think someone plagiarized your article on Squidoo:

Last week I used Squidoo's Transfer function to transfer my lenses to Hub.  It seemed to go OK and I am able to log into Hub using my Squidoo user name and password.

HOWEVER I can't find my lenses on Hub!

HELP.  HUB is a bit different to navigate around than Squidoo,  I must be missing something simple,

      Patrick

The actual transferring of articles will start on September 2nd and should be completed by October 2nd.  In the meantime, you can use your HubPages account to start writing a new Hub if you want to.

        Welcome to HubPages

Wish that Squidoo or Hub had notified me that my transferred lenses would not appear on Hub for 30 - 45 days.  I need to modify several of them so the references don't point back to Squidoo but to HubPages.

Guess I'll have to wait a month or so to get access to my transferred Squidoo lenses.

          NOT GOOD customer service.

It's hard to compare Squidoo/Hub Pages. They each have benefits and different styles. I'm hoping with the transfer that modules Hub Pages doesn't have will somehow convert. Both places seem to have great writers and friendly people who are willing to help.  I've been warmly welcomed and appreciate the hospitality from Hub Pages.

    Hello Alli,
Thanks for the welcome post. I am still waiting for my lenses to transfer. I have a lot of learning to do here at HP. Hope things go well with all Squids.

Thanks for the "Hello." I appreciate the welcome. Life has been in a bit of turmoil waiting for the transfer. Mine finally went through last night and I edited one of my lenses that had a skeleton head on it. I like the fact that HubPages has a variety of symbols to help you know you need to look at a Hub.

I made all the changes suggested and added pictures back in that didn't transfer because I had them in using html code. It is kind of time consuming but everything worked except my Amazon things are not showing up. Maybe I have to wait for them to review. I know on Squidoo it was 24 hours before the new changes showed  up except when you were a Giant Squid like I was. Then, it went through immediately. I hope that is the problem.

    Thanks again.
    Judy
