I just joined HubPages to share my love and interest for music, specifically heavy music (i.e. hardcore, metal, etc). I see Hubs all the time about music but most of the Hubs created don't attract people in my common interest. I want to change that and help bring some attention to this site, but at the same time I don't want to do something that might violate the rules. I want to share topics like "(Insert # of Songs Here) Songs that (Insert Topic of Interest Here)" or "Top (Insert # of Songs or Artists Here) That (Insert Topic of Interest Here)", something along those lines since I know I can do that no problem. I want to maybe embed Youtube videos, Soundcloud tracks, Bandcamp tracks, etc as a method of sharing my common interest to the general public since that is the easiest way to express my common interests to the general public. I just want some feedback/advice on how to properly express my interests for heavy music without violating the Terms of Use. I have read the Terms of Use, but it doesn't totally answer my questions which is why I'm coming to you all to gain some insight. Thanks.
Hi Samuel,
Your music Hubs sound perfectly fine to me. We allow lists of songs, YouTube videos, etc, but the Hubs will have to have enough of your own commentary to be truly unique and useful to your readers (i.e. Hubs that are just lists without any additional explanations are unlikely to pass our Quality Assessment Process).
The one thing you'll probably want to watch out for is that certain keywords in the metal genre (sexual terminology and gore keywords) will not be ad-safe on HubPages. Google tends to be on the conservative side with the content they are willing to show ads on, and without ads you won't be able to earn from your Hub. Just something to keep in mind.
This sounds interesting. I don't think you will violate anything. You can share YouTube videos in your hubs so long as those videos are allowed to be used.

I have only just started to experiment with videos on my hubs. I was wondering how other people find using videos from youtube work for them, does it generate more traffic or is it a waste of time for you?

A Bit over the generated requests from hubpages re the not meeting standards - I had three /four videos on this hub and was told that some or one (who knows which ones) had poor pixels or some such - so to fix it i took off all videos - so no videos. Re-submitted and now find that my hub is still...
