Just when I though it was safe to get back into the water . . . .
I thought I was lucky because the images stayed put. I buy images to suit what I am writing, but when the small ones get stretched more than they should be, and the bigger ones come up smaller than expected. . .well, how is one to keep up the quality of the display?
Then there are these odd bits of underline that I have removed again and again, to no avail. It does not look neat and professional does it?
Was I too hasty in publishing?
Has anyone else found any of these problems with the photos and with the underlining ?
Images are huge when you click on the double arrow for placement. The are smaller when move to right of text box. I have not seen the underlines yet! Image size is a complaint by many of us
Hi #Linda, I have chosen the photos according to the space, but eg:the cartoon on capsule 1 is slightly fuzzy at the edges cause it made it bigger, while the image on capsule 3 is about 20-30% smaller than I had intended it to be. I had actually planned another cartoon there, but the system was playing havoc with it.
I think the underlines are gone. Thanks for all your help guys. X X X
I've never had the underline problem myself but I can see it in some of your hubs. My struggle is with the images, and I'm a heavy user of images. I seem to have to replace almost all of them so its taking me a very long time, so much so that I'm hesitating before I set about cleaning them up.
I haven't been here long either and I'm still trying to edit my hubs that were imported from Squidoo. I'm finding I have to replace most of my images with ones that are a better size/shape.
One thing to try with your underlining problem: delete not only the underlined portion but also one or two characters on either side. Check that the underline symbol at the top of the text box has gone before you retype the characters. Alternatively, select all the text, click on the underline symbol to turn on underlining, then click it again to turn it all off and then it should all disappear.
Hope that helps.
Try clicking on the HTML button after clicking on Edit. You might have a stray piece of code in there and removing it might solve your underline problem. I'm not an expert in this department by any means, but I've had stray pieces of code count as full-blown links a few times (which took me over the 2-link limit). Just a thought.
Thank you #Swisstoons. These 'handy hints' are all useful to newbies like me. I am learning - as fast as I can!LOL!!

I don't remember photos being so big in hubs. I use the photo capsule. Putting them left or right of text, they are smaller, but if you want them in center, OMG they are huge! Is there a remedy for this??

My goodness, I have read oh so many forums trying to figure out why my once flourishing hubs suddenly took a devastating nosedive. I have learned a lot from others comments & shared experience. I have also recognized that there seems to potentially be a number of possible reasons why many hubs...

A bit of background first...I joined HP almost two years ago, did a bit of writing and then stopped for a long time. Then went back and got into the apprenticeship program. My hits, on average per day, were a total of 100. I know how much I'd earn from HP per day from that to hit...

Is thumbnail view still available for images on hubs?I see this on a lot of hubs but it's not seemingly available on my own. I'd like to be able to use it for my celebrations hubs in particular. Was this feature removed?

'When it comes to Hub size, is there a size that is considered too big?I have a hub approaching 18,000 words. All content on it is relevant to the same video game. I'm trying to see if this works better than having a number of smaller hubs connected through links. I have a table of contents that...
