I mean seriously. I know that ethics trumps business is a minority opinion (not referring to HP).

That first thread sure totally disappeared. I mean seriously and totally gone. Probably for the best. Don't bring it back. I really do just simply want full status with HP. Nothing more. Nothing less.

    Please do this.

I'm gonna do one of these a day. Every day. Money is money. Period.

I guess you have thought of this before...I haven't seen it in the forums. I don't know if it will help get you out of a referral fee but open another account;start clean and transfer your hubs slowly into it?
      forgive any naivety...roll

Alas, moving all those URL's would lose all my traffic. Which means no more monthly pay out for yours truly. That monthly payment is the difference between poverty and a comfortable living for me. It may indeed what I'll end up having to do however. I've already unpublished/deleted 3 hubs; not to another account, but totally off HubPages altogether. If HP would just use my 5-year cap idea... Still hoping...

Hubbers do not pay the referral fee, HP pays. Anyone who signed up as a referral gets the same percentage as a person who signs up on their own. The  10% to the referring person comes out of the HP share of proceeds.

And if HP grants my request, I'll spill the beans as to my monthly income. big_smile

You know you can't spill the beans lol; it's against TOS. I understand your feelings, but it is a policy that can't be broken. In how many years has such a breach of confidence been broken?  You are unique, and therefore the rules cannot be bent for you.

Sorry - do love you though! Come have some fun with us on another thread. Bad grammar and such!

Stating monthly income does not violate TOS. Just don't state CPM/RPM and such. All is well.

I really do need to get out from under this. Whatever it takes.

To what does this refer? I am new here and certainly don't want to feel as if I am in some binding contract --

The OP joined Hubpages through a referral link from another Hubber and now wants out.

Relache is another hubber that Paradigmshift signed up under.  Under HP terms Relache get 10% of what PS earns, not from his income, but from HP's % of income.

Don't worry about it; it am sure it does not affect you.

If your only option is maintaining a hubpages account or poverty I would strongly suggest you reevaluate your decision to hold your articles hostage over a debate on business practices.

This is, outside of the literal interpretation, the best example of cutting off your nose to spite your face I have ever seen.

      You are right.

Thus my very slow progression in the matter. I am still maintaining hope that:

      A. Relache requests HP to remove me from her referral list.

      Or

      B. HP modifies the author referral program in such a way that it is no longer my problem.

        Then you should

        A. Communicate with Relache privately via the contact link on her profile page

        or

        B. Communicate with HP staff privately via HP's contact form or a staff member's profile page.

          "A." will never happen.

"B." will be my dead bang, absolute last resort. Besides, modifying the author referral program would make HP a boatload of extra money. My hope is they are examining that very possibility.

"B" should be everyone's first resort in a touchy issue such as this because staff members do not actively monitor this forum as they do the suggestions and technical issues forum.

Could be. Time will tell. They might not be too thrilled if I were to gather my 100+ posts on the subject and shipped it to them. lol

For that matter, yesterday I said I was going to make a new thread a day resubmitting this request. I've changed my mind and won't be doing that (a sigh of relief ripples across the forums...). big_smile

Funny that she thinks my earnings are so trivial, yet she won't send that request to HP.

              Whatever happens, happens.

As for me, I'm only going to be posting cheerful stuff on these forums for awhile. Thanks everyone for all your help and moral support. It meant a lot to me. smile
