Above the title I created, Hubpages has a category written in red. Some of my hubs are getting placed in fitting categories but other aren't. For example, I wrote a hub about Stephen Ira Beatty, the transgender son of Warren Beatty. It has "Soap Opera" written above the title rather than something more suitable such as "Celebrities," "LGBT," etc. Do I have any control over this? How can I change these? Thanks!
You can access and edit the topic each Hub is classified under from this page in your account settings,
If you can find an existing topic category/subcategory that more accurately represents your hub, go for it. I can't see HP minding that.
At top-of-page in edit mode, you will see "Topic 'whatever' click to edit "
I have never seen this happen. Hub Pages has never changed any category I've selected for any hub, even those which fellow Hubbers have later told me would do better in a different category.

It would be useful to be able to sort our hubs into categories on the profile page. This would make it easier for readers to see what else is available in subjects that interest them, and also remind writers to work on a niche. I think the option was available on the old profile page - was it...

I've been going through some of my old Hubs to update them but one thing I didn't think to check - until today - was which category they were in. What a shock! Several of my older Hubs were in totally inappropriate categories, which may be one reason why they weren't noticed for a...

I don't know if this would be programmatically possible for you guys, but it would be REALLY nice to be able to put hubs in more than one group. For example, I might like to put my "Gift Ideas for Pirates" hub in the following groups:Funny HubsGift IdeasPirate HubsIt's just a quick...
