Why does the score continue to go up in a deleted hub that has never been published? I am perplexed
All created Hubs show ups and downs in the system, published or unpublished.
But 48 hours after you hit delete on a Hub, it will be gone for good, so don't worry about it.

deleted hubs do take a few moments to go away from your list.
Lafenty, unpublished Hubpage articles will clearly show up on you listing of hubpages in red lettering letting you know that the article has not been published. Also a published date will not be in the published date excel box on the homepage as the other published hubpages.

If we want to "remove" some hubs that are under achieving to test whether our other hubs increase in traffic, as a result, can we simply unpublish them or must they be deleted entirely?

Some people say you should never, ever delete a hub...only edit it and such. What makes you just completely trash your own hubs?
