A big thank you to Bev, who posts under the screen name of The Ragged Edge. She offers a lot of advice to newbies trying their hand at writing. The guidance, while always graciously offered, is not always graciously received. (I've had similar experiences and it gets a bit discouraging.) Bev must spend hours reading aspiring Hubs and making suggestions as to how to improve them. Although, I've been in writing racket for half a century, I always read Bev's critiques and learn something from them. Just wanted to recognize the efforts of a fellow Hubber.
Aw... thanks, Rupert.
It doesn't take too long... and it's lovely to come across the odd gem of a hub, and enthusiastic new hubber who really wants to have a go at writing well. Plus I can get crabby at the Ruewbies
I too have learned a lot from reading your comments and am always amazed that you take the time to respond to all of those newbies. As you mention, you do find a good one at times but most of us can not put up with all of the rudeness and nasty replies.
Kudos! I am sure if Mr. Lee had not been banned he would thank you too!!!!
Hear Hear! She does always offer solid, succinct advice. Most people hate to be criticized, even if they have asked for the critique. They hate to hear their babies are imperfect lol.
I agree. Bev really does seem to have a genuine interest in helping others.
I actually voted her most helpful Hubber in this year's Hubbie Awards.
Here, here! Bev, it is so generous the way you offer your time to help budding authors. Hubbers like you make HP the best place to write.

Is HubPages trying to discourage its writers and get them to quit writing?Every time I publish a hub my Hubber score goes down then it goes up by 1-2 points and then down by 1-2 points. Then when I am not on here for a day or two it goes down by more than 2 points. This is very...

Why is HubPages discouraging it writers by dropping the Hubber score? It seems HP expects us Hubbers to be on here 27/7 or they drop the Hubber score.

Hi Everyone, I would like you all to give me some feedback on this article. If you could also proof read it, I would be very happy. I want to submit it to Letterpile, but I need an extra set of eyes first. Thank you all in advance!

I'm so tired of Google and their algorythms. It seems like just when I get things right, they change something and I have to start all over again. Obviously hubpages is affected by this, and while I have the greatest of respect for Paul and Robin, it's discouraging for me.I haven't written anything...

Hello everyone,I'm a new hubber so I'd like to say hello to everyone. I've been here for only a day but I have been a fan and a reader of hubpages for over a year now. I really love writing, sharing views, and experiences so please welcome me

I would like to thank Habee. Her work and number of hubs she writes are just incredible. Apart from her hubs I also like something else about her. The wonderful dogs and her cute little grandchildren whom we get to see on her profile pic. Way to go Habee.
