Why is HubPages discouraging it writers by dropping the Hubber score?
It seems HP expects us Hubbers to be on here 27/7 or they drop the Hubber score.
I have found it to be the opposite. When I was here the most, it used to be in the 80s. When I started taking month-long hiatuses it went into the 90s. I disappear for months at a time, come back and find it at 98-100. I start getting involved, leaving comments, jumping into answers, publishing hubs, it goes down 8 or 10 points and takes a while to work its way back up.
I don't know why. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I've given up on it. As long as it doesn't effect my traffic, I'm good.
I agree with WiccanSage. Although I've never been so lucky to reach the 90s, I am always surprised when I return after extremely long hiatuses (several months) to a fairly decent score.
Thank you AJ for answering this question. I have to stop letting it bother me.
Shyron honey.....believe me, I know as well as you that it's easier said than done. We take pride in our work and we care about results and feed back. I for one, understand. You know I do!
I fully understand why it bothers you Shyron. I am an intermittent Hubber, but the dedicated ones are obvious, for reasons sometimes including score, but not always. I think you should keep those nails well manicured and strong, so you can hang in.
My hubber score doesn't vary that much. It's usually at a steady 94-96 range. A couple of times it actually made the 100 mark. But my score has never been below 93. Not sure what the formula is for calculating the hubber score. I comment on a daily basis, but have been pretty lax in publishing this year. Nevertheless, my score has remained pretty steady.
Management, or the moderator assigned to me, if that is the case here, must be a Trump supporter. The last couple of days whenever I have said anything negative about Trump my hubber score has dropped. In fact it went all the way from a 96 to a 91 when I said Trump would be our first (so far as we know) pedophile president.
Given that the man is sexist, racist, misogynistic, homophobic, and likes 'little girls' a little too much, and generally has just about every negative characteristic that's possible, I can't think why anyone would support him unless they share and support his values. Can you? I can't imagine voting for someone like Trump for president of the U.S. and leader of the free world.
People who are voting for Mr. Trump and supporting him because they hate themselves and want to punish themselves should instead come to Texas (at least 65% conservative) and wear a hair shirt whilst sitting by the pool. That way they can punish themselves without taking their self-anger out on the rest of us. )
Watch my hubber score plummet to 25 (or less) now!
Au fait, that could well be. I spoke out against Trump also. Thank you so much for answering this question.
There was a time when my score was in the low 90's. I see today it is 84, yesterday it was 85. I really don't know what factor lowers or raises our score. I do know when I publish a hub my score goes down, yet it is published. Beats me???????????
honestly, My hub score had been fluctuating like the stock market, it keeps falling and striving up again by a few points.
Anyway, i am not bother with it
I am bother with the daily earnings, not the hub score
I do agree with you shyron.. as I am losing interest in Hubpages all together.. hubpages.. not the hubbers.. Frank
Shyron.....Well now.....Y'all sure in hell know what I think about this! I doubt I'll be needing to repeat myself for some time! LOL.....I just finally quit my complaining~~~because it doesn't do us a bit of good now does it?....Hang in there girlfriend. I'm right in there with you.

Is HubPages trying to discourage its writers and get them to quit writing?Every time I publish a hub my Hubber score goes down then it goes up by 1-2 points and then down by 1-2 points. Then when I am not on here for a day or two it goes down by more than 2 points. This is very...

My hubber score is going down drastically, almost 10-15 points!! Is it just me?Every time I log in, the hubber score is decreased by one to two points. I am quite active on the site, reading others work, writing comments and so on. I have edited and updated hubs too in accordance with the...

For a very long time now my hubber score has lingered between 96 and 100. About a week ago it dropped to 93, and now is down to 91. Although people say this score does not matter, it matters to me. Yes, i have deleted a few hubs recently, but I have also added some. I've...

Just had a big drop on my profile score. And all my hubs were featured along with a steady 10 Editors Choice. I say 'were' because 3 were just unfeatured and I don't know what to do about that. My views are over 945,000. Boo-hoo. Hubpages doesn't love me anymore!

In the past four months I have had increasing views, higher CPMs, have been adding articles (and deleting some losers), good Amazon sales...and my Hubber score has dropped from 97 to 91 in the past few weeks! I don't get it...anybody else seeing this problem or can the team explain...
