I made this account some time ago and I don't know if I made my name my username, but I thought of using a pen name, but when I preview my work, on the side where it shows author information, it shows my pen name as well as my real name in parentheses. Is there anything I can do about this? Thanks.
All you have to do is edit your profile.
You'll see there is a box for you to type in your real name, but it's not compulsory - you can leave it blank. If you typed your real name in there, just delete it and then save your profile.
I thought you couldn't change your username once you set it up. I think Gabby needs to contact the team about doing this to make sure.
Actually, yes, that is the case, but I read you can't change your username so since it is my name I'll just publish things under my name
Your "Gabby Duran" account is only 3 months old and has only one article on it. You might as well just make a new account with a different username if that's what you really prefer. Many people here have multiple accounts and it is not against the rules. Best of luck with it.
You can't change your username but you can choose whether to display your real name as well. There's a box in your Profile for your real name, it's optional.
I thought the OP wanted to remove her real name and just use her username - maybe I read it back to front.

I was curious if there is a way to edit the author name that gets added to all Hubs I make. it currently stamps "by Suspect20" at the top of my Hubs, which makes sense. However There are a few sites I would like to share my work with, and where I want to use my real name Kevin...

Hi,My username is 'Rickrideshorses' and I've wondered for some time if this has had an adverse effect on my overall traffic. I didn't think too much about the username when I picked it but now I'm concerned that people might either be put off by the username for whatever reason, they may not click...

Hello,I'll give you a little background to the story here. I write on hubpages under the alias of Joe Macho. It was the first thing to pop in my head, and I find it more comfortable to write under this name than my real one. My problem now, is that I was contacted by another hubber and asked...

I have been on this one conspiracy site informally for over 5 years. I usually go there to get the latest news before the MSM does (I'm a news hound)So I am about to take the plunge and sign up for formal membership there and I am thinking about using my first name like I do here at HubPages along...

Does it hurt you SEO-wise to add a extra phrase to your title after the one with your keyword in it? In other wods, if your three word title with the keyword in it is a good one in terms of SEO but you don't think it gives enough info for the reader so you add something to it does that weaken...

I am extremely new here and read as I was signing up it was suggested to use your name. I really didn't like the idea of doing that but ended up doing so. I should have looked around more and then I would have seen that many were much smarter and didn't do that, but use modified usernames,...
