Comment # related to Hubscore?

After deleting spammy and two word comments my score went down a notch. Is this coincidental or are our received comments a factor in the elusive Hubscore? I also tried to edit the editbot mistakes (running words together), but that didn't work. We can't edit the comments?

Glad it is not just me then.

We encourage you to moderate these types of comments and doing so will not affect your HubScore.

We do not offer a way to edit comments left on your articles in order to prevent misrepresentation of the people who have posted those comments. (While most Hubbers would never edit someone else's comment to change the meaning of what that person was saying, it only takes a few to cause visitors to lose trust when posting on a site).

Inability to edit comments makes sense. The mystery surrounding the hubscore does not. It would be better for trust if  there was some clarity. I ignored the numbers as advised by some in this forum, but I don't think that's the best policy for the site.
