My best earning week ever on HP

I have been writing on HubPages for 5 1/2 years. I have had a great week this past 7 days, and I was just reviewing my lifetime earnings. Going strictly by HP Ad Program earnings, this past week was my best week ever, and it includes some of my best days ever!  I have earned more by a couple of Amazon sales in the past.

    How are you doing?

That's great! Congrats on your best earnings ever!  Things are improving slowly for me, which is encouraging.  And while HP returns, my blog slows.  It's always the same old thing lol.

Glad to hear it! Always nice to share some positive news, and somewhere in the future you'll likely find a new peak.

As an aside, I love your forest background on your profile, it's a great picture. I've been going back and forth on what to use for mine as ages haha. Oceans, space, etc.

Thanks. I took that photo myself in a Redwood forest on the Avenue of the Giants in near Phillipsville, CA.

That's awesome, Sherry! I've been at HubPages about the same length of time as you. I had been hitting payout every month for a while, but the past half a year or so, it has gone down to every other month. I haven't been very active the past couple of years, so maybe that's part of it. I'd like to get back into it more, so maybe that will help when I do. Still, I've enjoyed my time here, and I do enjoy seeing that my hubs are still getting views and that I'm still making a bit. Keep it up, Sherry! I'm happy for you!

Thanks Victoria Lynn. It's good to see you. I got slapped pretty hard by Fred a couple of months ago, but now that he has loosened his grip, things are on the rise again.

Things do seem to be back to normal after that whole Fred fiasco. Congrats on your best earnings week ever, I usually do well when other hubbers do well.

Personally last year's June was my breakthrough month and as of the 15th I've already surpassed June 2016 in terms of ad earnings so things are looking up, even CPMs are nearly what they were last year around this time.

Your success is giving others hope so I hope it continues and gets even better.

Good for you, Sherry.  Hopefully this trend will continue for you.

Last month was the biggest number of page views I have ever had on HP.  It actually shocked me!  I hit a milllion views awhile back, and am already have earned another 332,000.  If this keeps up, I should hit 2 million at the end of this year or the beginning of 2018.

I was doing OK with payouts, but when I switched to Adsense daily amounts either doubled or tripled most days.  So I am a very happy camper (pardon the pun lol)

I was told a long time ago that once views start adding up, the next batch comes much faster...and I am finding that to be true...so,let's hope you're on your way to great success here.

The millions go very slowly for me. At the present rate of progress I will hit 10 million in four years time. Probably be dead by then, lol.

That's great! It seems like your snowball is really picking up speed now. Good for you!

I stayed on AdSense only for the month of May. I saw a lot of day to day ups and downs on AdSense, but it added up to about what an average month on the HP program is.

I switched back to HP Ad Program at the beginning of June. I am on track for a better than average month, but that would probably be true on AdSense too.

It's hard to tell since no two months are the same, so I don't know how much I learned from my experiment, but it was interesting.

I started with Adsense late in April and since then income has continued to increase.  I will admit that it is very weird knowing that page views are not the basis for payment, though.  I had one day this month where I got almost 5,000 views and another day when I got 2900.  I made more income on the smaller amount!  Go figure!

I wasn't too sure if this has been the best week I've ever had, then I checked the same time last year all the way back and saw that I'm getting more than tripled this year compared to the last few years. I knew things were looking up, noticed a marked improvement lately, all around. Although, I think I'll go back and check some other months.

Good news, glad to hear it. Your results are symptomatic of the increases many writers are currently experiencing on HP, thanks to the niche sites reaping rewards for hard work, persistence, some spot-on editing and all round better quality.

A lot of us are quick to post about our bad times, I think it's important that we celebrate the good times as well. Even if next week is not as good, at least I have a new high to shoot for.

Paul Edmondson advises people not to get too up or down as traffic rises or falls, which is sensible. But I reckon a little celebration now and again is no bad thing, lol. Whoopee!

I have to agree, currently having my best earning week. Views had been increasing but then got slapped back recently. Today's figures were a real surprise. It's great to know other folk are having success. I guess you have to be in for the long haul, which is why evergreen hubs are important.

I have had, to put it generously, extremely few sales from Amazon over the years, and this week, I almost fell over backwards out of my chair, when my Amazon earnings showed a massive uptick; mostly from just a single sale!!  It was more than all my prior Amazon earnings combined!

I rubbed my eyes, really hard, opened them, and looked again.  Then, I looked at the earnings report to make sure it was 'audited' and finalized, and it was!  Woo-Hoo!  This will allow me to reach payout threshold more than just once a quarter, for a change!

This is what makes us hubbers often wish we could have a way to see which hub in particular led to the click-through and the eventual purchase.  ...  wink

    1. NateB11 profile image90
NateB11posted 6 years agoin reply to this

Actually, I think you can see which Hub made the sale, in Amazon Reports.

Thank you, Paul. I'd like to take this moment to let you know how much I appreciate the efforts of the team to save this site by creating the niche sets.  That was a stroke of genius!  I know it hasn't worked for some, but for those who have found success as a result, it has been wonderful.  You,Robin and the team are greatly appreciated.
