When does HubPages pay a person? How exactly does it work?

I have 50 plus dollars, I'm just wondering how all this works or how they pay you - I'm new to the whole process and am excited to actually have earned something from my writing.

If you have google adsense, are part of the hubpages ad program, and have earned a minimum of $50 HubPages will pay you by depositing money into your paypal account. You had to have provided your paypal account email. I think they pay the month after you've reached your $50 minimum.

    Congratulations!

Hubpages uses PayPal, so you need to have a PayPal account set up and registered with HP.  Then, at the end of the month following the month in which your HPAds total hits $50 or more, they will deposit the appropriate amount directly.  So basically, it's payment in 30 days.

Hope that's clear, and again, congratulations on getting off to a good start!

Doc is right on with his answer!  Glad to hear you are doing well on HP, Keith.

50 dollars is the amount you should have accrued before HubPages send you a payment, thus, you get paid every month every time you reach the amount of 50 dollars in your HubPages account.

It is also worth mentioning that you get paid based on advert clicks (Adsense) or impressions/views (HP Ad Program). With Adsense it gets paid into your bank account directly once you hit $100. With the HP Ad program it gets paid as everyone else here has described once you hit $50, i.e. to your Paypal account.

well...when i joined the stipulation was you get paid when you reach a hundred dollars and it gets released to you from google adsense to your bank account or your paypal account.

AdSense is a $100 threshold, but HubPages is $50.

All points stated in all answers so far are correct. A couple of useful clarifications.

If you are set up through HubPages, the payout is at $50, aggregate of all earnings (tho I'm not sure about Amazon and eBay).

If you are set up through Google, payout is at $100, through Google.

Your total earnings as of the last day of the month (9/30 in this case) are confirmed by about the fifth of the next month (10/5), and paid on the 28th of that next month (10/28 for earnings as of 9/30). This information is listed under My Acccount | Earnings | Balance History.

It really does work! I was very excited to receive my first payout at the end of September. However, because the Australian dollar was strong on that day I got about four dollars less than the US dollars I had earned. I'll have to hope our dollar is weaker next time I make the $50!

I just had to add that over here 50 dollars is only about 30 pounds! lol! I must work harder....! lol!

For the detailed rundown on how Hubpages payments work, including the timeline of when payments come into your paypal account after they're earned, you might also want to check out this section of the official FAQ:

There's an excellent answer by Tamron to your question in the forum "Still can't get adsense approval." Congrats on reaching a milestone as you anticipate your first payout :-)

You should get a deposit in your Paypal account on the 28th day of the following month that you reach pay out.

Typically they pay out around the 28th of the month after the earnings were accrued.  You will only get a payout if you have at least $50.00.  This money does not include monies from Amazon or Adsense.  It goes to PayPal and can then me transferred to your bank.

LOL, I was almost at 50 dollars at the end of September.  I mean really close.  I'm over now.  So the 28th is it?  Finally.  I probably should have asked this question too.
