Photo upload problems

I have lately noticed a problem with losing a lot of photo quality when I upload jpegs to the site. I don't have the same problem with pngs, but they have a much larger file size.

Has anyone else noticed the same thing? Have you found a way around it?

Hmm, I haven't noticed such a thing. Are the images of sufficient size (above 300ish pixels in their dimensions)? You likely already know this, but pictures altered from half-width to full can sometimes suffer a quality loss.

Yep, they are usually either 1,200 or 1,500 pixels wide.

I've never had a problem, but I always make sure that the minimum pixels in my images are 1000.  Do you use an editing program to resize your images?  If not, PicMonkey.com  is a free online editing program that is great to use and allows you to do all sorts of edits, including resizing.

Yes, I use Gimp. They look fine when I resize them.

Please contribute your own unique thoughts rather than copying the second half of mine.

But hey, imitation is the greatest form of flattery.
